Despite providing Ghanaians with one of the most popular songs of the year so far, rising star Patapaa says his bank account is almost dry.
Speaking on Kasapa Fm about how his life has changed since his song became such a mega hit, Patapaa admitted that financially, he’s yet to reap the rewards from his hard work.
“…I’m really content with how far my song has travelled but I can sincerely say that I can’t boast of GH¢1000 in my pocket from this hardwork.” Patapaa Amisty told Gattuso on the radio station.
According to him, what has changed is his status, whereby he has gained fame and his song is known everywhere, but financially speaking he’s still struggling.
‘One Corner’ by Patapaa has definitely been the breakout song of the year, and is in contention as one of the biggest of the year. However, it’s not surprising that he’s not reaping any fruits as there aren’t really systems in place in Ghana for musicians to benefit from their toil.
Later when he starts being invited to shows and stuff he might then get some coins to fatten his bank account. It’s a sad distin.
