44-year-old Being Mary Jane star, Gabrielle Union says she has had close to nine or eight miscarriages all in the name of wanting to be a mother.
Married to basketball star Dwyane Wade, a man who already has three sons from previous relationships, Union admitted that she never wanted to have kids anyways until she started taking up the stepmother role and now there is nothing she would not do to have a baby or nowhere she would rather be than with her stepchildren.
In her book dubbed We’re Going to Need More Wine, the actress talks about her struggles she has gone through with her hubby and the miscarriages she has endured in her life.
She wrote:
“I have had eight or nine miscarriages,” said the 44-year-old Being Mary Jane star of her crushing loss. “For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant—I’ve either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle.”
“I never wanted kids,” the actress continued, adding, “Then I became a stepmom, and there was no place I’d rather be than with them.”
“Once a month I look like I’m in my second trimester because I’m bloated,” she continued, referring to the side-effects of her IVF injections. “It leads to the questions and it leads to the rumours and anytime I go into a doctor’s office I feel like I’m a member of SEAL Team Six undercover because I don’t want people to speculate.”
She said she is going to try with hubby till they have a kid together.
