Rememeber the Delta Force? NPP vigilante group known for attacking regional security councils and storming court houses? Well, their members are walking free after their trial ended.
For their acts of assault and vandalism, the 13 members of the group have been fined Ghc 1,800 each, and have been made to sing a bond to be of good behaviour for 1 year.
Failure to pay the fine or violation of the bond would lead to a 1 year jail sentence.
The case was settled today (Thursday) after the accused pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit crime by rioting.
The judge thus handed down the ‘lenient’ sentences, despite the despicable actions of this vigilante group which needed a tougher crackdown than this.
