Shatta Wale has called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to abandon pidgin english and speak patois the next time he addresses him, so that Ghanaian can freak out even more.
The President’s official twitter account on Tuesday, October 17, which was Shatta’s birthday, tweeted out a birthday message to the ‘dancehall king’, which contained some pidgin English in it.
“Happy birthday ! You for come visit me for Flagstaff House o!” the official account of the President tweeted.
In typical fashion, Ghanaians immediately saw something wrong with the tweet, and flooded the President’s mentions with complaints about his use of pidgin. Like Presidents are not allowed to occasionally have fun.
In typical fashion as well, Shatta has hit back hard at those complaining. Writing from his handle, Shatta said there’s nothing wrong with the President’s use of pidgin, and even encouraged him to go even further next time.
“NIGERIAN PRESIDENT TALK PIGIN IBE NORMAL BUT GHANA PRESIDENT TALK IBE PROBLEM. DADDY NEXT TIME TALK PATOA MEK DEM KNO’ WHA GWAN..” he tweeted.
