At least that’s what they told each other.
Cynthia Ampadu, member of the veteran Ghanaian gospel music group Daughters of Glorious Jesus, has given a detailed history of the formation of group and also, their utmost dedication to their work to the extent they completely forsook s*x.
Speaking on Hitz Fm, she claimed that all three group members remained virgins until they all got married.
According to her, all three of them stayed with the founder of the group, Archbishop Akwasi Asare Bediako during the group’s formation until marriage.
“We were very lucky to have him as a spiritual father and we stayed with him until we completed school and got married.” she said on Hitz Fm. “I didn’t know any man until I met my husband… In fact, all three of us stayed virgins until we got married.”
The group, which has churned out hit after hit over the years, was formed after a prophecy by the preacher showed God had chosen them to spread his word, she said.
“…One day, Archbishop Akwasi Asare Bediako said ‘I’ve seen a special gift in these girls so I need to talk to their parents’. And he was also a gifted musician. He was a singer turned pastor. He came to our parents and told them that the Lord had revealed the gift we have to him and so, he would like to help us. So the three of us were schooling and staying with him and that was how the whole thing started. So we officially started singing as ‘Daughters’ in the year 1989 but before then, we were just part of the choir, singing all over.” she revealed.
