Surfline Ghana has laid off about 70 workers in a large cleansing as the company tries to rein in costs, GhanaCelebrities.Com has learned.

The 4G Internet Service Provider which is the preserve of the well to do (the DSTV of telcos) are reportedly eager to reduce the cost of operations and has therefore implemented this drastic decision.

A source tells GhanaCelebrities.Com that circa 70 workers were fired abruptly and have been directed to come in on the 15th of November for their severance packages. The company is mostly maintaining National Service Personnell/Graduate Trainees who are paid far less than the experienced main staff who have been shown the door.

Surfline has been in the Ghanaian market since 2012 when it received its operational licence from the National Communications Authority to become the country’s first 4G LTE provider.
