At the end of every year, looking back and taking stock is a very common thing to do. It makes you look at what went well and what did not go so well.
For the Ghanaian music scene, it has been a great year for some stars, with people like Patapaa and Kidi breaking out onto the scene and the established stars also making their mark.
Yet through it all, one man maintained his dominance – Shatta Wale. The dancehall star’s ‘Ayoo’ hit single ended the year as the top trending song of the year, according to numbers released by Google.
Yet a Nigerian artist penetrated the Ghanaian top trends list, getting three songs in the top ten. That’s more than any other artist, which is kind of embarrassing. Davido’s ‘Fall’, ‘If’ and ‘Fia’ all made the list.
