Kumawood actress, Benedicta Gafah has disclosed that she starved herself to lose weight in order to become a model and a celebrity–indeed some Ghanaian women can do whatever it takes to be famous.
Benedicta Gafah who was once tagged by Bishop ‘Angel’ Obinim as a mermaid (Maame Water) took to her Instagram page and wrote:
“Growing up I always wanted to be a model, so much so that I literally used to starve in order to lose weight. I wanted to be a size 8 at all cost and I went to great lengths in a bid to achieve that dream. I hated myself so much, especially my plumpy body. There were many times I felt my body was just being “stubborn” and preventing me from becoming great????????????.
But I eventually had to accept myself and the fact that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes and forms. And that one could be size 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and so on and still look beautiful, especially when it is coupled with a beautiful heart and a positive mindset.
