There’s no known law that prohibits the recording of anything happening at a public place in Ghana, even if it involves the police.
Yet, a woman who filmed an altercation between a police officer and dancehall artiste Shatta Wale was later arrested–and then granted police bail.
The woman, whose identity has not been revealed is reported to have arrested and later granted bail for allegedly capturing the video of Shatta gesturing and swearing at a Police Officer.
It’s reported that the musician was driving an unregistered vehicle and was stopped for interrogation by the police officer.
The officer had asked Shatta Wale to follow him to the station but the dancehall artiste fumed, swore at the police officer and drove away.
The woman “who was arrested told Joy News she did not capture the video but was seen in it,” reports Joy Fm.
