The company has acquired 51% shares in the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), making it majority shareholder and thus operator of the bank and its activities going forward.
uniBank acquired the 51% stake from a consortium of financial institutions which hitherto held them. The consortium was headed by Belstar Capital and includes Starmount Development Company Limited, EDC Investments Limited and SIC-FSL.
The consortium acquired the shares in 2016 when the bank publicly floated their shares in an Initial Public Offering (IPO).
