The nominees list for this year’s VGMA awards has gathered criticisms from numerous quarters including from artists, music analysts and managers.
Artists such as Obibini, Strongman, Fancy Gadam, Epixode and numerous others have all expressed their reservations with the nominees list plus numerous other entertainment critics picking apart some of the categories and nominees.
However, according to PRO of Charterhouse, George Quaye, there is nothing in this world that is immune to criticism and even the Grammys get criticized all the time so they aren’t bothered by all the critics.
“Grammy is about 50 years now, yet people criticize them all the time. We are not disturbed”. Quaye said in a recent interview.
“Even CAF awards gets criticisms all because it deals with human beings. These things happen regularly in every human institution and this isn’t something which will stop today or tomorrow. Once it’s a human institution, everybody can express his view on our dealings. Charterhouse expected these criticisms”. he added.
The annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards comes off on the 14th of April 2018 with Ebony, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and Joe Mettle battling it out for the topmost award.
