The reputation of the Ghana Police Service is a running joke, seeing as they are more known for taking Ghc 1 bribes and nothing else.
Even if they’re known for something else, it’s being incredibly uninterested in the calls of distress Ghanaians send to their hotline.
However, the testimony of a social media user about the proactive nature of the police in responding to an armed robbery distress call she sent has left Ghanaians in shock.
According to Jessica Abudey, writing on Facebook, her family was in danger of an armed robbery attack when she called the police hotline and within ten minutes, 10 MINUTES, a police team got to her location to save the day.

“Wow …. Ghana Police has really surprised me …. my family and I were almost robbed at home and just a low key call to 191 with my home address and direction… armed police men with two patrol cars arrived in less than 10minutes… We thank God for our lives and secondly to the police…. I’m so grateful..” she wrote.
As to what empowered the police to do such a yeoman’s job in that instance nobody knows, but all Ghanaians ask is that they maintain such professionalism in all instances.
