Patapaa Amisty has declared his plans to take Ghana music to the next level this year. The “One Corner” hitmaker who was “totally cheated” at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) has assured his fan base, the Pa2Pa soldiers that taking his music to another level will get them all excited and strengthen their base. Even though he failed to win the Most Popular Song of the Year award, which many agree he deserved, Patapaa still stole the show with the oversized blue suit he wore that is still trending.
Refusing to accept that his fashion choice of the night was rather comical, the Swedru rapper has embraced the big blue suit with all his heart and even gone ahead to christen it in an attempt to make it a trend. According to him, the jacket he wore on the night which he didn’t hesitate to wear a second time to the VGMAs Celebration Jam despite being a laughing stock when he released it the first time is called “Coat Vien”. Maybe the Pa2Pa Soldiers will jump on the trend and we will start seeing people donning their own “Coat Viens” to functions.
After all, every mistake is a new style. Not to say “Coat Vien” was a mistake, but you would need a solid sense of humour and a very thick skin to be willingly seen anywhere in such a suit. Despite being pegged to be just another one-hit wonder, Patapaa is steady proving his naysayers and critics wrong and has released a new song titled “Akwaaba” which features Mr. Eazi and Pappy Kojo, and the song is already making serious waves. His fans were obviously very delighted when he performed it at the Independence Square as they danced and sang along.

We do hope Patapaa is here to stay, because he provides us with enough entertainment even outside the studio and off-stage. He amused Ghanaians to no end when he went on the Delay Show to say he doesn’t drink alcohol, he only drinks Guinness.
