After a few days of thinking things over Joy Fm have apologized to Juliet Ibrahim over  a recent twitter post in which they quoted her to have called Iceberg Slim an animal.
The twitter account of the channel made the tweet, which infuriated Ibrahim who went on a twitter rant and threatened to sue the media house.
However, the tweet has been taken down and today myjoyonline has published a retraction and apology to the actress.
“We wish to withdraw and apologise for the tweet, last week, culled from a story that was making the rounds and headlined “’My boyfriend is an animal’ – Juliet Ibrahim jabs Iceberg Slim.” the retraction read.
“It had been republished by a major news portal as originating from a named and different source.”
Joy Fm said they were duped by the original source who made up the quote which they also copied and used.

“It is confirmed that the originating source had a speculative headline. It is also verified that Miss Ibrahim’s tweet relied upon by said source for the story neither named a person nor described a human being as being animal.” they added.
After their original tweet, in which they explicitly quoted Ibrahim to have said ‘my boyfriend is an animal’, she took on the station on twitter.
“I thought you were a reputable station? Did I grant you any interview and you are quoting me with a made up headline? If this article isn’t taken down in seconds my lawyer will contact you! Unprofessionalism at its peak!” she wrote.
