The latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War, has divided fans more than ever before but continues to smash at the box office.
The ending to the movie has been criticized and debated since its release yet the movie has become the highest grossing superhero movie of all time and is well on its way to becoming the highest grossing ever.
According to reports, Infinity War has currently grossed $1.9bn and is approaching the famed $2bn mark only truly transcendent movies reach.
It is currently the fourth highest grossing movie of all time and in previous weeks had become the fastest movie ever to reach $1bn at the global box office.
Released by Marvel earlier this year, Infinity War chronicles the attempt by the Avengers to fight off Thanos as he attempts to gain all six infinity stones and kill off half the universal population to ‘save’ the world.
