Kumawood actor, Kwaku Manu has blamed the woes of the Ghana movie industry on the ruling National Patriotic Party (NPP) for not paying much attention to the movie industry since they gained power.
Kwaku Manu who appeared on Deloris Frimpong Manso’s ‘Delay’ show stated without mincing words that actors and actresses will soon go broke and start selling coconuts in the streets to make a living if the government does not do anything about the dying movie industry.

He said:
“The president has met with the press twice since he came into government but he has never mentioned anything about the movie industry, trust me, if something is not done soon, in the next four years, actors will go into coconut selling business”.

According to the actor, President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo has not paid much attention to the movie industry since he assumed office–not to talk of organising a meeting with investors such as Zylofon Media boss and other key investors to look at the way forward of the dying movie industry.
Kwaku Manu also attributed the gradual dying of the movie industry to bad and lackadaisical attitudes exhibited by some producers, directors, actors and actresses.
