Contrary to reports that he was suspended by the International Central Gospel  Church (ICGC) for s£xual misconduct, Rev Josh Laryea has denied being suspended by the church on such grounds.
It all happened in March 2017 when The Church Council issued a suspension letter to Rev Josh Laryea over a reported s£xual misconduct against him.

A portion of the suspension letter by The Church Council read;

The “Emere” hitmaker in an interview on Starr FM  disclosed how he nearly committed suicide when the news was broke to him.
“I may have gone mad, I may have been dead…at a point, I thought of suicide…,” Rev Josh said.
Touching on why he left ICGC, he stated that it wasn’t because of any s£xual scandal but his decision was motivated by his own desires.
“It was more like a transition, but definitely something brings it about, but it doesn’t mean that that was the main reason. It has a lot to do with my orientation on the Gospel”, he said.
