Popular Nigerian hip-hop artiste, Y Cee has disclosed that ending his music contract with Sony Music in the United States has given him many opportunities.
Speaking from his experience, he said sometimes, being signed to some of these big foreign record labels does not mean you have a big deal because most of them have nothing good to offer to their artistes.

He explained that the reason why he had to terminate his contract with Sony was that his input in the record label was more than what he was earning.

“Most times African artistes think getting signed onto the big labels is a big deal, I realized Sony couldn’t do more for me.
“We had to terminate our contract with Sony Music. I did not see why my management was doing exactly what the contract mandated that Sony Music did,” he disclosed.
