Shatta Wale is one of those people whose parents disowned them because the career path they took was not to the liking of the parent.
Some people can be so rigid in thinking they should decide everything for their children, even when they are adults.
Shatta Wale has revealed his father practically disowned him because he did not like the fact that he became a musician against his wishes.
According to the singer, during the period in his career when he was suffering so much with no money, his father, who is known to be well to do, refused to give him any help.
“There was a time we were very hungry so I decided we should forget everything and walk to my dad for money but the security turned as back saying my daddy says he doesn’t want to see me, so we walked back home,” Wale revealed.

However, things have turned around now that Shatta Wale is one of the richest men in Ghana as his father has come back to his side now.
“…He also didn’t get the realization of what we were trying to do at that moment, but by His Grace, now my father listens to my songs and picks ‘Kakai’ as his favourite.”
Wale added a word of advice to Ghanaian parents.
“I think in all we Ghanaian parenting should be reanalyzed. Parents should also listen to their children just like children listen to their parents. I listened to my inner self and that time the music was eating my brain like cancer.”
