Unsurprisingly the pastors in Ghana are up in arms against a proposed plan to tax the ‘charismatic’ churches in Ghana.
Pastors often make noise about how they need money to carry out the work of God but the money is always administered by them and they decide how ‘God’s money’ is disbursed — which is why you can scarcely come across a poor pastor in Ghana — their hands are all over their congregation’s money.
That’s also why they’re mostly against the idea of taxing their churches because it cuts into their revenue streams.
Prophet Nicholas Osei, aka Kumchacha, has fired a stern warning to the government to move away from the idea of taxing churches.
“That money is God’s money, and we know what it is used for,” he said.
“Don’t take God’s money or the things that will happen to this government…” he warned.
