A delegation from the Ghana government met with a Fifa delegation in Zurich today, Thursday August 16th and agreed to halt the court process to dissolve the Ghana Football Association.
The meeting follows a threat from Fifa to Ghana to halt the court case to dissolve the GFA before 27th August or face a ban from international football.
In the wake of the threat government and Fifa agreed to meet to find a way forward and following the meeting, a joint statement was released revealing government was halting the court case to dissolve the FA.
The meeting reached other resolutions, including dissolving the Executive Committee of the FA and forming a normalization committee to run Ghana football in the interim.
Ghana’s delegation to the meeting included Youth and Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah, Deputy Chief of Staff Abu Jinapor, Deputy AG Godfred Dame and Dr Kofi Amoah, head of the Liason Team currently in place to oversee Ghana Football. Fifa’s delegation included President Gianni Infantino and General Secretary, Fatma Samoura, among others.
