Rex Omar Explains Why He Believes Creative Artists In Ghana Are Doomed

Veteran Ghanaian highlife musician, Rex Omar has said that in Ghana, life is very hard for people who depend on their creative skills to earn their daily bread.
Speaking during an interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Show with the host, Andy Dosty, the “Abiba” hitmaker asserted that, Ghana lacks people who are willing to invest in the creative industry.

According to Rex Omar, Ghanaians don’t give creative artists the needed respect as compared to the other professions.

“There is one aspect of our development that we are neglecting. Here in Ghana, if you are blessed by God with a talent for creativity, because of our backwardness you’re doomed. Actor, musician, poet, whatever you’re doomed. Society abuse our work. They waste your time and want more from you.
Someone can be a lawyer a doctor and can do whatever and no one talks about them but as a musician, people want to know how you left your life”, Uncle Rex told Andy Dosty.
