The Vodafone 4Syte TV Music Video Awards was held yesterday at the Dome, Accra International Centre. The event was hosted by  Christal Jeanne of ETV  & Lazzy of VIP fame with helping hands from the FOKN BOIS -M3NSA and Wanlov the Kubolor.

Becca topped the other winners as she went home with 2 Awards including the all important ‘Over All Best Video’ Award.

Revele Films, makers of the multiple award winning movie ‘Run Baby Run’ and producers of Hit Tv Series-‘Home Sweet Home’ and ‘Hotel St. James’ will be in London, UK on Friday, 16th December, 2011 to premiere their much talked about movie ‘Elmina’.

It definitely seems Christmas is going to be fun with Revele Films kick-starting the festive season with the premiere of ‘Elmina’ at Cineworld in Wood Green, North London on Friday, 16th December.

If you have seen movies like ‘Run Baby Run’ and TV series-‘Home Sweet Home’ and ‘Hotel St. James’, then certainly you know the professional and creative prowess of Revele Films-makers of ‘Elmina’.

In ‘Elmina’, “Ato Blankson (Doug Fishbone) is a farmer in a village in Elmina, in the western coastal region of Ghana. Fate dealt him a harsh hand when his wife, after years of marriage, had not borne him a child. As custom allows, he marries another woman, yet ever since marrying the young and beautiful Sekyiwaa, who does bear him a child, his life has been miserable.

Every year his village celebrates the Bakatue (meaning ‘opening’) festival, to mark the beginning of the fishing season. The chiefs (in their palanquins) and the villagers make their way through the city centre dancing and drumming. The final event of the festival is the heavyweight wrestling match which is organised by the youth of the town.

I am not sure how many of us have sat down to answer the question; Who are you? Even for those of us who have attempted this question, probably we could not adequately say who or what we are without having to step into someone’s corner.

Majority of us cannot simple define ourselves because we do not know who we are. We might have spent years discovering and understanding ourselves and yet all the knowledge acquired about ourselves does not solve the puzzle-Who are you?

In our struggle to define and set ourselves on course, most of us have/are brutally destroying the person that we are.  Life is a big messy journey with different unique individuals racing for a win. Every individual has a special attribute to help him/her with the journey and it is this uniqueness that defines us.

Despite our individual uniqueness, it is disheartening that majority of us are wasting the person (the unique individual) that we are by wishing to be someone else. What is more to life if we waste our own persona and aggressively desire to be someone else?
