Joke of the Century! Kwaku Bonsam Says He is the Cause of Cristiano Ronaldo’s Injuries & He Caused It So He Can’t Play Against Ghana at the World Cup

Nana Kwaku Bonsam
Nana Kwaku Bonsam

First of all, if Nana Kwaku Bonsam can cause Cristiano Ronaldo to suffer spiritual injury as he claims, so Roanldo is ruled out of playing against Ghana in the 2014 Brazil World Cup—what stops him from just making the goalkeepers of all the teams Ghana will play drunk, so we score 10 goals per match?

According to reports, the most popular Witch Doctor in Ghana-Nana Kwaku Bonsam has told Angel Fm in Kumasi that, he is the man behind the on-going injury that the Portuguese striker-Cristiano Ronaldo is nursing.

It emerged yesterday that Cristiano Ronaldo’s participation in the World Cup remains in doubt after Portugal issued a medical bulletin which revealed the world’s best player is carrying two injuries.

Ronaldo is said to be nursing a thigh strain as well as tendonitis in his left knee…

Following the above, Kwaku Bonsam has come out to say he is behind the injuries and the reason why he is doing this to Ronaldo is to ensure that he does not play in the World Cup at all, or at least so that he is unable to play against Ghana—which he believes will allow Ghana to sail through from the Group stages.

Ghana Has Not Produced Any International Music Icon in the Past 30 Years – This is a NAKED TRUTH

Kojo Antwi
Kojo Antwi

Yes! It’s a fact! Ghana has not produced any international music icon in the past 30 years – this is a naked truth!

What do I mean by international music icon? I mean a musician that when you mention his or her name, one does not need to Google, read any newspaper, or ask someone to know about the fellow. My own semi-literate mother, who is a trader, even knows or has heard about American musician Michael Jackson – though she can’t sing any of Michael’s songs.

Mention Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, or Michael Jackson and the ordinary person on the streets of Accra Central is most likely to say ‘I’ve seen his picture before’ or ‘I’ve heard his songs before.’ I don’t know which part of the world you may be as you read this piece, but wherever you are, ask anyone to mention just one international music icon Ghana has produced in the past 30 years and reply to this piece.

List of legendary musicians Ghana has produced in the past 30 years (or even more) include; Kojo Antwi, Daddy Lumba, Amakye Dede, Oheneba Kissi, Gyedu Blay Ambulley, Pat Thomas, Jewel Ackah, Papa Yankson, Kofi Abraham, Mary Ghansah, Charles Amoah, Ben Brako, and others. Which of them is an international music icon?

Even two of Ghana’s music acts whose names always come up when we are talking about musicians who have taken Ghana international, thus, Osibisa and Ramblers International, according to my research, are not that popular worldwide – though it’s on record they toured extensively with Ghanaian music.

Injured Black Star Player- Jerry Akaminko’s Family Says JUJU Was Used On Him & They Will Expose the Person Soon…

Jerry Akaminko
Jerry Akaminko

You cannot separate the African from Superstition. No one dies a natural death in Africa even if the person is 120 and nothing happens on its own—it is believed that there is always someone behind things, especially when a group people are in competition.

During last week’s Ghana Vrs Holland friendly football match which took place in Rotterdam, Ghanaian defender-Jerry Akaminko sustained an injury which ruled me out of the World Cup competition, kicking off in less than 10 days time.

According to GhanaSportsOnline, “the family of Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko claim they are close to unravelling the mystery surrounding the bewildering injury of the 26-year old, insisting the injury was as a result of spiritual machinations”.

The website says, the “elder brother of the former Lions defender who doubles as the family head told Kumasi-based Angel FM that a spiritual connection to Akaminko’s injury cannot be disputed as a series of investigation conducted after the injury is very damning and revealing.

Spokesperson of the family and godfather of the Ekisehirspor center-back, whose name was name was given as Ceaser says he can confirm the use of Black Power ‘juju’ in the camp of the national team because he has been privy to information of such occurrences”.

BullDog Granted Bail as the Human Rights Court Says His Detention is ‘Unconstitutional’

Bulldog
Bulldog

For whatever reasons, the Accra Central Magistrate Court presided over by Mavis Nyamaa Quanoo failed to grant BullDog (real name Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson) bail last week when the Lawyer of BullDog-Gary Nimako mounted arguments that the charges of Conspiracy and Murder leveled against his client were frivolous as the prosecutor had not been able to link BullDog in anyway to the murder of Fennec Okyere…

To the shock of many, the above Court remanded BullDog into police custody for two weeks to enable the police continue with their investigations, just as the prosecutor had requested…

Today, it has emerged that the Human Rights Division of the Accra High Court has granted BullDog bail inline with his lawyer’s request that, the holding and continuous detention of BullDog breaches his fundamental Human Rights—and not in line with procedural rules.

Those who thought Nana Ama McBrown and boyfriend-Maxwell Mensah’s relationship was not going to last, the couple are still going stronger—having lived to see the end of Keitta and Eazzy’s relationship as well as that of Nadia Buari and Jim Iyke.

As a woman, it feels great to see two people drunk in love just as that developing affair between Joselyn Dumas and John Dumelo.

Let me add this, Efya must have good and bad ‘ boobies days’ since her chest size increases and decreases—depending on the day.

REVIEW: ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ is Undoubtedly the Best, But…

Ghana-Meets-Naija-27
Ghana Meets Naija

Empire Entertainment has done it again; raising the bar so high every event organiser in Ghana will struggle to catch up. They have proven to the world what they are capable of doing best.

The much talked about and biggest event on the Ghanaian musical event calendar took place last Saturday (24th May, 2014) at the Accra International Conference Centre. Various parts of the capital city experienced massive traffic jam as a result of uncountable number of people who were finding their way to get to the venue.

Hype Before the Event

I wouldn’t be charged with providing any false information to the public if I confidently say ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ was, and will forever be the most advertised event on the Ghanaian entertainment calendar. Its news was felt by each and everyone just like we all feel air as living beings.

The online community, print, and broadcast media were all used to publicize this great event (something that most event organisers lack). With the kind of hype this event received prior to the D – day, I wouldn’t be surprised if other event organisers contact the head of publicity at Empire Entertainment for some helpful advice from now onwards. I give them A+ just for this.

The team understands the importance of effective publicity. To the penny-pinching event organisers who wish not to spend money on publicity, yet want to gain from their events, please take a clue from how ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ was hyped and its outcome.

Of course, GhanaCelebrities.Com led the online campaign with thought provoking articles—and we are glad the event was such a GREAT success…

Attendance

The effect of what has been discussed above (Publicity) was felt on Saturday night. Nobody needed the services of Ghana Statistical Service to do some general counting before we got to realise lots of people attended this mega concert. It was visible to all.

Information that came from the camp of Empire Entertainment had it that tickets were sold out before Saturday. All of us present can corroborate to that assertion because of what our eyes saw. No seat was left unoccupied.

Even though tickets were sold out and the hall was full, people outside the Accra International Conference Centre without tickets were eager to get tickets and enter as if they were going to watch a rematch of Bukom Banku and Ayitey Powers’ bout.

When placed on a weighing scale, those without tickets who wanted access to the hall could outweigh the patrons inside. This alone ought to inform you how majority of Ghanaians, as well as non – Ghanaians, trooped in to the venue for the 4th edition of ‘Ghana Meets Naija’.

Online Buying & Selling in Ghana | A Good Way to Trade…

Online-experience

In most Western countries, the majority of people sell and buy online—leaving behind the conventional way of trading, which is to walk into a shop or a market. And this has been possible due to available technological innovations such as the internet, laptops, tablets and smart phones.

Interestingly, selling and buying online in Ghana have become a greater success than most people thought. Owning to some of the best free classified websites such as olx.com.gh which allow people to post ads for free, several Ghanaians are joining the world of online market—selling and buying both new and used products.

Ranging from mobile phones to cars, from personal services to commercial services, the gradual development in technology and the fast speed of its penetration have given Ghanaians the opportunity to comfortably trade from wherever they found themselves—as long as they have access to the internet.

Even though the shops and markets are still the biggest places to trade in Ghana, just like the Western World, Ghana’s emerging online trading will in few years take over. The more people get access to the internet, the bigger the online market becomes.

BATTLE FOR SUPREMACY: Which Country Will Take Home the CHAMPION BELT at Tomorrow’s ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ Concert?

Ghana Meets Naija
Ghana Meets Naija

Undeniably, Ghana Meets Naija is the hottest musical concert on the Ghanaian event calendar. With three successful and power-packed previous editions, this year’s edition of Ghana Meets Naija is surely going to be exceptionally massive with oodles of fun.

In the world of football, Ghana has succeeded in beaten Nigeria in the FIFA World Ranking. What about the music industry? Nigeria has over the years been boasting of having great musical performers. The host nation, Ghana, on the other hand thinks otherwise. It’s therefore time for the two countries to come face to face once again for another round of a fair musical battle.

These two countries do not want to let go their supremacy and bragging rights. In view of this, top musicians from each of the two countries have been lined up for this year’s Ghana Meets Naija mega concert. The best have been selected from the rest to thrill their fans and make the night a memorable one in one’s lifetime. Will Ghana, the host nation, lose to Nigeria?

The question as to which country will stand tall ought to be answered. It can only be answered by analysing the performers representing each country. The headline acts for Ghana include Sarkodie, Guru, Lil Win, and Castro. (Don’t forget Shatta Wale will be hitting it hard too).

That of Nigeria comprises of Davido, Kcee, and Wizboy. Other supporting acts will be performing on the night. For now, they will remain as surprising acts—y0u need to be there to find out for yourself….

Let’s look at the headline acts from both countries to make a projection as to which country is likely to take home the champion belt.

Sarkodie

Sarkodie has grown to become one of Africa’s top musical performers. With 3 studio albums plus one collaborative album to his credit, Sarkodie has twice been adjudged as Artiste of the Year by organisers of Ghana Music Awards.

His brand keeps growing day after day. Music lovers love him for his versatility and how he delivers fluently on every song with his fast-paced rap style.

In 2012, Sarkodie won the Best International Act (Africa) at the BET Awards. Churning out hit songs each time, he has once again been recognised by BET, nominating him in the same category this year.

At tomorrow’s Ghana meets Naija, patrons will be expecting great and nerve- cracking performance from Sarkodie—and we are certain he will not disappoint.

Shatta Wale

Whoever tells you rebranding isn’t good doesn’t actually know what he/she is talking about. Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., popularly known by his stage name-Shatta Wale is currently taking Dancehall music in Ghana to another level.

It seems he releases new songs at the end of each week—and these songs turn out to become hits. With lots of ghetto soldiers on his side, Shatta Wale doesn’t disappoint his followers when it comes to performance.

Ghana’s Good Image Not Well Positioned On the World Map– Brand Ghana Office Has Failed the Nation

map of Ghana

I first heard the name Brand Ghana during the tenure of office of our late President Prof. John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills. I mean, the year 2011.

The mandate of Brand Ghana office as I learnt was that, it is an outfit that is going to be charged with the responsibility of branding Ghana (like a product), to become a global competitor in attracting foreign investors.

I’ve once advocated to the effect that Ghana can best be marketed to the outside world through our creative art sector and even suggested a biopic about Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah, as the best tool to use.

After that publication, I asked some close associates about Brand Ghana and none of them could tell me where the office of Brand Ghana is. As a matter of fact, some of them had not even heard the name Brand Ghana before, not to talk of where their (Brand Ghana) office is located or what they do.

Resorting to the internet, I used all the reliable search engines I known to search for the official website of Brand Ghana but nothing too relevant about them popped up. Only articles people have written about them or articles that have the words ‘Brand Ghana’ shown up.

Ever since the Brand Ghana office was established, never have I heard any of its management personnel on radio informing the public of any policy or strategy they have put in place or about to put in place to ensure that they are really ready to brand Ghana.

If Brand Ghana is alive, why hasn’t the history behind Ghana’s cocoa not told to the world? At least a biopic or documentary about how Tetteh Quarshie brought cocoa from Fernando Po to Ghana is a tool for marketing Ghana’s cocoa to the international market.

If Brand Ghana is alive, why is it that when I try to use my debit card to buy things online, I go through the list of countries and Ghana is missing out of the list of African countries? Yet, I see cocoyam and ginger growing small countries like Togo and Benin there.

THE BIG QUESTION: Should Churches Be Made to PAY Royalties to Gospel Musicians for Their Songs?

dance in church

Since we’ve been educated that the word of God, once it is ‘expressed’ in some art form, can be copyrighted, the series of questions I bring to the tables of our arts and entertainment polymaths are; should churches seek permission from gospel musicians before performing their songs? Or should churches be made to pay royalties to gospel musicians?

During the year 2012 presidential polls, Pastor Mensah Otabil – founder of International Central Gospel Church ICGC accused education advocacy group called Education Watch for infringing upon his copyrighted work – his church sermon.

In a communiqué from the communication team of ICGC to the media, the church claimed: “they (Education Watch) should have sought permission from the pastor before doing so because it’s (the sermon on CD) a copyrighted work from the man of God.”

I am not interest in who was right or wrong, neither is this feature purported at resurrecting the case or get even at the man of God. As a showbiz person, my interest in the dead story is the logic and principle Pastor Mensah Otabil stood for and how it jaunts into arts and entertainment.

If the revered man of God said his recorded sermons stored on CDs are copyrighted and thus no one can use them for any purpose without his permission, then shouldn’t churches also seek permission from gospel musicians or pay royalties to them before performing their songs in church?

Humanity & Religion in Africa: Let’s Put Humanity First!

Heaven

As humans, we are all connected one way or another but the tragedy of the world is that we have forgotten that we all belong to each other. We have reduced ourselves to a society that cares based on religious sentiments. We equally define what is right and wrong based on sentiments.

The people who ‘practise/believe’ in the major religions we have in Africa i.e. Christianity, Islam and African traditional religion are the main culprits when it comes to the issue of inhuman treatment. We have become so polarized and indifferent to each other because of our ‘faith’. The world is getting smaller by the day due to technology—what is happening elsewhere can happen anywhere.

Religion has been on this planet since time immemorial and yet it has never been possible at any point in recorded history to unite everyone under the banner of one. Different denominations think they are better than the other how much more (or less) people of different religions? We are in a hurry to work our way to heaven but totally forget or ignore being ‘each other’s keeper’.

It is not the actual teachings of each religion that worries me but rather the violent clashes, wars, instant (jungle) justice which erupt amongst the religions. Anyone would believe in their normal senses that these religions should be meeting ‘clubs’ of spiritually pure people with superior morality, with greater tolerance and understanding rather than non-believers. The fact that each and every day human lives are heartlessly lost ridicules such beliefs.
