Ghanaian songstress-Efya turns 28 today—and we have a fab photo of her above for you. Though talented, Efya remains a local champion, with lesbian and smoking controversies hovering over her head. As we published earlier on, the singer has even been accused of doing hard core drugs and constantly smoking weed—she has denied all these but says, she still smokes cigarettes.
Interestingly, her mother has come out to say, she is not aware of her daughter smoking anything—not even the cigarette she has admitted smoking. According to her mother, it’s just some people peddling lies about Efya.
Real name-Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, the musician describes herself as “a Ghanaian neo soul vocalist, songwriter, performer and actress from Kumasi.”
She is the daughter of Nana Adwoa Awindor, a filmmaker and celebrity host of the late television show Greetings From Abroad. Efya got her first exposure to fame when she participated in the maiden edition of the Stars of the Future talent show.
