Weekly Discussion, Let’s Get Talking: Are Nigerian Men Nicer & Friendlier Than Ghanaian Men As Confused/Banned Actress ‘Yvonne Nelson’ Said?

If you are a lady in your late 20’s like me and if the pressure from family & friends is getting unbearable, then you have definitely tried many nationalities in an attempt to catch that Mr Right.  Being single is cool but most people especially family members do not see it that way.

I surely want to get married soon but if the men are not on point, what do you expect me to do? God even knows that I have tried enough, I have crossed nations and have pushed aside all tribal  boundaries hoping to pick up my Mr Right…

I have gone on countless dates which I have frankly cut down in recent months because most of the men coming up are either looking for the thing down my skirt or are con artists. To cut long story short, I have been around both Ghanaian and Nigerian men but how dare any woman compare any man to our amazing, friendly and nice Ghanaian men?

I was so shocked to have read that in a recent interview,  Confused/Banned Actress ‘Yvonne Nelson’ was able to open her mouth and say “Nigerian men are nicer and friendlier than Ghanaian men.”

No wonder Chris-Vincent constantly tags her ‘Confused’. This might be as a result of her getting mid 20’s crisis because I never have once come across any to match my Ghanaian men..

Dr Cryme Donation
Dr Cryme Donation

It’s been almost thirty years since the last donation was done at the Poku ward at the 37 military Hospital. Mother’s day is highly celebrated in Ghana but usually involves people taking their beloved parents to places of interest whiles others also peg the day for reflection and forgiveness.

It is surprising how the UN Volunteer Ambassador sacrificed almost the whole day and effort to put together this worthy project to show love to sick parents. Dr. Cryme’s Finally Finally album which encompasses the new genre of music in Ghana, Twipop will officially be outdoored in July 2011 followed by album tours accordingly.

After Chris-Vincent’s post which highlighted the total make-up of  Actor Majid Michel’s wife’s public appearance, I decided to have a close look at her previous photos in a measure up against the recent.

Indeed, Chris was right and quickly noticed the sudden improved make-over. I guess she must have been reading GC or someone close has been bold enough to tell her about her appearances at public events. She had serious issues with her hair, it was always rumpled…And her outfits had questions marks too!

After months of preparation and media spotlights, the moment we have all be waited for emerged this morning…. Billions of people around the world watched as Prince William and Kate Middleton took their marriage vows this morning.

It  was amazing to watch as a new chapter in the history books was opened. It was a perfect wedding, befitting the hype and the attention it received. However, I am still not feeling the “no ring” policy adopted by Prince William.

While Kate Middleton will be rocking her wedding ring with pride, Prince William for some reasons have said he will not be wearing a ring. What is your take on this…? Would you accept in good faith if your newly married wife or husband decides not to wear a ring?

Weekly Discussions, Let’s Get Talking: Bang Before Marriage, A Moral Concept or Just A Matter Of Individual Choice…

blank

This morning, I was in the midst of 3 guys and after lengthy discussions on the state of affairs in Libya, we proceeded to look at the riots in Nigeria and then who might win Ghana’s next elections.

Before I know, these guys were talking about “Bang Before Marriage”. The very fact that I was the only female in the midst of 3 guys coupled with how uncomfortable I was with this topic being discussed loudly early hours of the morning made me go silent.

How long can a sister be mute for as these guys poured down their diabolical views in relation to women who go by the “doctrine” of until we are married, you aint getting me in your bed. I jumped in and these guys would not agree with me on any of the points I made in favour of waiting till the day of marriage.

What I gathered from this morning’s conversation to a larger extent indicates that majority of guys would opt for a “bang before marriage” while most women if they can get it their way would go for abstinence until marriage. I wonder why this trend though!

The above prompted my mind as the position of this doctrine of “No bang before marriage”, Is it a moral concept which if adhered to indicates some sort of good upbringing and adherence to morals or is it another field of individuals choice on what to do with their lives?

Love & Relationship: Things Not To Tell Your Partner If You Want Your Relationship To Last

blank

Ooopps! I have always thought when you are in a relationship, you are some way fixed together with your partner and as such, he/she must know all  that you know. I am not the kind of person who likes to hide things from the partner, not because I am a talkative or cannot keep a secret.
