The 20th edition of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards will happen this Saturday, 18th May 2019 at the Accra International Conference Center and as usual, the whole of Ghana is keenly waiting to see what will happen on the night.

Yesterday, self-acclaimed Dancehall King, Shatta Wale received a huge endorsement from his former manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson aka Bulldog. Bulldog boldly took to social media specifically facebook and likened Shatta Wale’s comeback into the music industry about 7 years ago to Jesus Christ and a host of other great people who have done marvellously well in their chosen fields across the globe.

The 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA) will happen this weekend at the Accra International Conference Center and as usual, a lot of people are seriously anticipating what will happen on the night of the biggest music awards show organized in Ghana.

Ten years ago, when the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was celebrating a decade of awarding excellence in the Ghana Music Industry, they introduced another category in the awards scheme that sought to award one Ghanaian musician who has done extremely well in the music industry since the inception of the award scheme 10 years ago. That category, named ‘Artiste Of The Decade’ was hugely contested by great Ghanaian musicians, but at the end of the day, Kojo Antwi known as the music man beat everyone to it.

The ‘Nominees Jam’ for the 20th edition of the annual prestigious Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, organized by Charterhouse Productions happened in the Garden City of Ghana, Kumasi, on the 6th April 2019 at the forecourt of the iconic Kumasi City Mall.

Over 10,000 music lovers from all the corners of Kumasi trooped into the Kumasi City Mall to come and witness live, great musical performances from their various artists. All the important people who have a stake in Ghana’s Music Industry were also present.

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is 20 years this year and we must admit that even though the organization of the show every year is fraught with a lot of controversies but we cannot take away the fact that its 20th edition wouldn’t be a joke!

The main event has been slated to take place in Accra, somewhere in May 2019 and from the look of things plans are far underway to produce a very impressive show on the night.

The 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, organized by Charterhouse is scheduled to take place in Accra somewhere in May 2019. This years edition will mark the 20th anniversary of the biggest awards show in Ghana and even in Africa.

As part of the activities that precede the main show every year, a nominees jam is organized in one of the cities of Ghana and this year, Kumasi was chosen as the host city for the nominees’ jam.

Yesterday, 6th April 2019, Kumasi was brought back to life in the aspect of entertainment most especially music shows. It is the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, and ahead of the main event set to happen in May, the Nominees’ Jam happened in Kumasi.

Kumasi has hosted the VGMA nominees jam before, but this was just extraordinary as it marked the 20th edition of the Ghana Music Awards. Congratulations to Charterhouse for doing this for the past 20 years and they couldn’t have chosen any better place for this celebration to happen than Kumasi.

Yesterday, was a glorious and beautiful day for the Shatta Movement and their boss, Charles Nii Armah Mensah aka Shatta Wale as they made history at the 2019 3Music awards.
