I have been on a mini writing hiatus because my laptop broke down, I sent it for repairs and this good for nothing repairer left Accra for Bimbila to attend his great grandfather’s funeral without telling me—and up to date, he has not shown his face in Accra.

I guess in every misfortune there is a blessing since I have gotten a new laptop—by the kind courtesy of a man who wants to have his way with me though he is married with 6 children. I have told him I am not interested in playing with his married and fatherly pot belly but if he desire to make my everyday a Christmas, I sure have enough space in my room to take in all the goodies.

And you know what, I have screenshot our conversation so that if his wife shows up at my door one day, I will gladly show her that I did all a sister should have done for her husband to leave me alone—but he didn’t and he just wanted to help solve my financial problems.

When God sends the devil, He quickly sends the angel of kindness to redeem the chaos—He sent John Mahama to us in Ghana to capsize the economy and He gladly sent this man as my one and only redeemer.

Now that I have explained myself, let me move on to the serious issue. In fact, you guys are not my editors so why did I even bother explaining to you where I have been?

Anyway, the absence of the laptop also gave me a lot of free time to experiment new things with this young guy who just moved into my area—I may share his story one day when I am done draining all his energy.

So Gifty Anti is getting married after many years of wishing and praying, though she claims she was not doing any of these things…right? We do not sleep with her so it’s only reasonable that we believe she did not really care about getting marriage as a Ghanaian woman in her mid 40s.

You must know nothing about the importance of marriage in Africa and the societal structure of Ghana to believe Gifty Anti was genuinely not worried in anyway about the non-forthcoming of marriage while her age was on a speed dial, running like Tigo credit when you call China.

I believe she was worried though she once said she was not in a hurry to get married. At 45, if she was not in a hurry to get married, how come within few months after this comment, she is getting married? If that is not HURRY, what else is then?

I think Gifty should be honest about her situation, the fears that came with it and help others find solace in what has finally found her—but she seems to brush it off, saying, marriage has never been a big deal for her.

Don’t get me wrong, I adore Gifty Anti and I am happy that finally she is going to have a man she can look in the faces of all the haters and proudly say, he is MINE. Though it should not be so, husbands are the pride of most African woman—and our culture places huge significance on this.

It was a normal Saturday morning for me. Lying in bed and browsing the web for any bit of interesting news which I’d eventually feel too lazy to write about anyway. Interspersed with the occasional break of 20-30 minutes to watch an episode of Seinfeld.

So I open my Facebook account and I have a couple friend requests. One is from a guy whose profile picture made it very clear he’s into the occult. I accepted immediately, a chance to get a few chuckles out of another moron on my timeline; or so I thought.

Citi Fm’s Jessica Opare claims to be an award winning journalist and yet, she seems deeply ignorant when it comes to journalism—how did she win those awards?

In Ghana, we have a lot of people sitting on TV and radio with huge following—and mostly, these people are full of ignorance. That explains the corresponding ignorance of a lager percentage of the population.

The Nana Aba Anamoah’s suspension issue has been trending—it’s expected that her friends in the journalism profession would mount support for her. But this should be done with intellect—not on the back of pure ignorance.

Jessica Opare took to twitter yesterday to question TV3 on the rationale behind the suspension of Nana Aba Anamoah—and in doing so, she requested that TV3 should publish its code of conduct for her to see if Nana Aba Anamoah violated any aspect of it. She added that the decission to take Nana Aba Anamoah off air is “tosh”.

Now, this is where Jessica’s ignorance comes to play—publish code of conduct? Has she not heard of implied code of conduct or common sense?

I just read with excitement on your blog-GhanaCelebrities.Com that a fan nearly beat the hell out of actress Yvonne Nelson for disrespecting and failing to honour the simple fan courtesy of snapping a picture with him.

I am so glad someone has at least told this b*tch about her rude self and even had the opportunity to push that her big head.

I used to be a fan of Yvonne Nelson but have now unfollowed her on Instagram, twitter and facebook for fake social media love for fans which do not come into play in real life.

It’s embarrassing to talk about how rude this girl treated my friend and I but to make my point, I will let it out.

About a year ago, my friend visited from United States and even though I live not far from Yvonne Nelson’s YN shop, I have never gone there for anything. In fact, I never even thought she will be there so that is why I probably never bothered.

One afternoon, my friend said we should check out Yvonne Nelson’s boutique which I told her about while we were doing nothing, waiting for the night to fall so we can go out.

And not only that, she also stated that she was pregnant for the footballer—as a result, Asamoah Gyan should get her a neatly furnished apartment, a housemaid and a monthly stipend of $1,000.

Somewhere along the lines, it was alleged by Sarah Kwabla’s lawyer that Asamoah Gyan rapped the young woman—claiming that, Asamoah Gyan chopped the backside of the student when she had only permitted a front entry.

The much talked about Nollywood movie-When Love Happens was premiered last night in London at Greenwich Odeon Cinema—and has also been released in selected UK cinemas so you can still watch it if you missed the premiere…

The well attended premiere had some of the stars of the movie- OC Ukeje and Weruche Opia leading those behind the film-Kene Mkparu, Seyi Babatope and others on a red carpet—shortly after which the first light was thrown on the big cinema screen.

In Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri’s review of the movie; he admits that “‘When Love Happens’ is an exciting attempt to repackage the African love story for a diverse audience on the big screens. It’s the Nollywood we’ve long waited to see—evoking genuine laughter on the solid premise of a relevant storyline.”

Over the past few days Ghanaians have been trying to digest the constipation inducing news that about ten of our nationals have eloped to join the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.

For most people it is a shock that cannot be measured. A lot of people are trying to come to terms with how anyone would decide to up from their home and leave to join a group that is so self evidently callous. It would take a level of unprecedented denial for anyone to deny that ISIS is brutal, so for Ghanaians we cannot process how anyone could willingly join them.

Unconsciously, many of us are living our lives guided by the façade people present to us via this new technology called social media—with Facebook and Intasgram being the leaders in the dissemination of the acute falsehood.

Beyond personal levels, relationships are collapsing because of unending social media comparisons—and a video I just came across on social media, ironically, points this out.

People are never what they present to you on social media—forget the instagram photo, that is the best shot from the best angle out of the over 30 pictures the person took. Ask about the 29 other photos, they all went into trash…

Interestingly, many of us continue to flip through social media and bitterly question why our lives are so boring, why things are not perfect with us, why our relationships have so many difficult times and why we can’t be at the beach like the others are—forgetting that, it’s shit out there for those people too. But all they’ve done is to ignore the mess and uncertainties in their lives (the behind the scenes) and have carefully picked the few exciting moments (the highlights) to throw online just to send you those jealous shocks.

Of course you need to be smart to realize that, “real girls are not perfect and perfect girls are not real”. Therefore, when there is a presentation of that perfect girl on instagram, just know that, she is not real—you are just seeing ‘utopian’ illustrations, made easy by social media.

The pressure is immeasurable when it comes to women with a lot of them having to say things along the lines like this each day; she is getting married, when is mine coming?, Kim Kardashain is pregnant again, gosh, my biological clock is running on its last steam, those are perfect couples, why is my man such an a$$, she looks really toned, why am I not losing any weight…

The above may not only frustrate you, it certainly would mount undeserving pressure on your life, relationship and direction.

KKD Says the Girl He Was Alleged to Have RAPED Was Not 19 Years At the Time…He Believes!

Kwesi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) seems to know no shame—and he is still talking about the alleged rape case which was dropped some months ago.

This time, the broadcast journalist says, the young girl he was alleged to have raped-Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson was no way 19 years—and that she was older, at the time.

Yesterday, KKD told Bola Ray on Starr Fm that, “the thing is, I do not see how a lady who does not like you, would kiss you so passionately, and you would not be the one pinning them to the wall, and after that, after you have made love, would gladly carry your Prada bag.”

He added “I just knew that the truth would come out and that day I was just there [at the police station] and we were served the bill of indictment, the so called victim’s statement… how do you say somebody says they have been raped, somebody who actually before four witnesses at the police station said ‘I have not been raped why are you forcing me to say I was raped.”

Not long ago, it emerged that a 22 year old-Sarah Kwabla is claiming she secretly recorded Gyan chopping her down in February—but that is not all, she is now pregnant and she is demanding that Asamoah Gyan should get her a neatly furnished apartment, a housemaid and a monthly stipend of $1,000 for postnatal care.

She also claims the footballer raped her.

Asamoah Gyan’s lawyer-Kissi Adjarbeng has stated on radio that indeed Asamoah Gyan had s*x with this young lady but it was consensual—meaning, there was nothing like rape.

We constantly decry the ignorance, bigotry, and backwards mentality of our countrymen on this site, and for good reason. There is scarcely a nation on this globe so actively dedicated to remaining in a time long gone.

This mentality is often fuelled by our irrational superstitions and a dogmatic approach to the white man’s religion. This mentality often manifests in a bigoted approach to dealing with perceived deviants; persecuting ‘witches’, lynching homosexuals; and the most common, giving our money to ‘pastors’.

This mentality has manifested tenfold in our reaction to the US Supreme Court ruling legalising gay marriage across the country. Quietly sitting in our third world country, we’ve all turned into armchair pundits, armed with our 2,000 year old Holy Book and pronouncing impending Armageddon.

Manasseh Azure Awuni is widely regarded as one of the best journalists in Ghana right now; which I would concede is probably a fair assessment. He is also one of those bible thumping, 1st century bigots this country is overrun with, as a Facebook post of his this afternoon showed.

Manasseh put forward a very shallow, close minded riposte to the Ghanaians who are describing those opposing the judgement as backwards. In a post he probably thinks puts forward a cogent argument against both homosexuals and his perceived Ghanaian opponents, he did nothing but prove himself as being one of the close minded individuals LGBT opponents often are.

No doubt it is a populist post, with most Ghanaians having that same mindset. But the arguments put forth are so shallow minded it beggars belief that a supposed top journalist in the country would confidently display them as his views on the issues. But in the land of the blind…
