Posted on 21 Apr 2012 at 12:40pm

If info picked up by GhanaCelebrities.Com is anything to go by, then, Twi speaking actress Vivian Jill is on her way to join A-list of Ghanaian movie actors/actresses expected to grace the 65th Cannes Film Festival in France.

Following GhanaCelebrities.Com’s release of the final list of actors/actress to represent at the festival, the organisers of the Ghana Movie Awards were subjected to criticism for their inability to put in the final list a Twi speaking actor or actress.

According to our source, out of the many names submitted to Cannes office by the Ghana Movie Awards for review, only 11 were picked. The 11 are Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari, Yvonne Nelson, Yvonne Okoro, Majid Michel, John Dumelo, Martha Ankomah, Chris Attoh, Van Vicker, Prince David Osei and Juliet Ibrahim.

Consciously missing in the list are Twi speaking actors. There has been hullabaloo about the quality of movies produced in Twi but when the Ghana movie industry was in its deep mess and need attention to resurrect, it was the Twi speakers who offered the needed help to put the industry on its current pedestal. Final List Of Ghanaian Movie Stars Going To Cannes Film Festival This Year Out…Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari & Others In There!

Posted on 29 Mar 2012 at 9:00pm

GhanaCelebrities.Com has exclusively obtained all the names of the Ghanaian movie stars who will have the privilege to be part of this year’s prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Our source tells us that, the 11 movie stars were picked from the over 35 names which were submitted by the Ghana Movie Awards organizers.

The 65th Cannes Film Festival which will as usual take place in France is scheduled to take off on May 16 and come to and end on May 27.

Surprisingly, the name of the Founder of Ghana Movie Awards-Mr Fred Nuamah is missing from the final list. Calls to his office to find out if he will not be leading the delegation this year were not return.

We are not sure basis upon which the below names were selected. With the exception of 2 or 3 names I wish were not there, I am excited for them all…

1. Jackie Appiah

2. Nadia Buari

3. Yvonne Nelson

4. Yvonne Okoro

5. Majid Michel

6.John Dumelo

7. Martha Ankomah

8.Chris Attoh

9.Van Vicker

10. Prince David Osei

11. Juliet Ibrahim

Who do you think should not have been on the list? LOL
