The Ghana Movie Awards 2013’s red carpet had some eye popping moments with Christabel Ekeh leading the team in a white fitted, high slit dress that did put her bra on full BLAST…

I am not sure how that dress was meant to be worn—since it looks a bit over stretched at the chest area.

Nana Akua Addo also decided to show her post baby body and Kyeiwaa was looking lovely…Nikki Samonas, Salma Mumin, Vicky Zugah and Sonia Ibrahim were all looking cute!

Ghana Movie Awards 2013: How It Went Down + Ghana Armed Forces Took Home An Award!

Ghana Movie Awards

The annual Ghana Movie Awards came off successfully for the 4th time yesterday-30th December, 2013 at the Accra International Conference Centre. The event witnessed major players in the movie industry coming out in their numbers with the hopes of bagging one or more award.

The ‘black tie’ event saw the stars put their best foot forward in their appearance as they dazzled in exquisite gowns and suits.  Among the ladies, Yvonne Nelson, Jackie Appiah, Juliet Ibrahim and Joselyn Dumas were the top fashion picks for the night.

Even though the event was billed to start at 8pm, it suffered the disease called ‘Ghanaian Time’ and rather started a little after 11pm. Also a quick and heavy rain before the program saw the stage set up for the red carpet falling apart causing injury to the GhanaCelebrities.Com’s Correspondent.

Funny Face who along with Benny Blanco was the MC of the night started the program by thrilling the audience with his usual funny remarks and dance antics. There were also performances by various artistes and comedians and as usual Lil Win was the crowd favourite with his hilarious dance moves and funny retorts.

PHOTO FROM The Launch Of Ghana Movie Awards 2013 + Why Must The Proceeds Of The Event Go To ‘Kwabena Kwabena’s Save A Heart Campaign & Not The Struggling Industry?

After the below post, I spoke to the founder of the Ghana Movie Awards-Fred Nuamah who explained that,  the PRESS RELEASE that was sent out failed to capture the reason why some percentage of the Award’s night proceeds will go to the ‘Kwabena Kwabena Save Heart Campaign’.

According to Mr. Fred Nuamah,  the Ghana Movie Awards Foundation pledged some amount of money when Kwabena Kwabena launched his campaign few months ago—and they intend to fulfill their pledge with some of the proceeds from the 2013 Ghana Movie Awards ticket sales.

The 2013 Ghana Movie Awards was launched at the Golden Tulip yesterday in the face of speculations that this year’s Award Ceremony was not going to be held…

The fairly colourful event was attended by Minister for Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts- Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare; Mr. Steve Asare Hackman, President of Film Producers Association, John Dumelo, Sonnie Badu, James Gadner, Ekow Smith Jnr., Vivian Achor, Eddie Nartey and others…

It is being reported that; some of the proceedings from the actual Award Ceremony to be held on December 30, will go to support “Kwabena Kwabena Save a Heart” campaign, courtesy of the Ghana Movie Awards foundation…

And my question is; what happened to the WHOLE proceed going to help the already struggling Ghana Movie Industry?

I am not by any means undermining Kwabena Kwabena’s campaign but it is only fair and prudent, that money raised from the awards’ night be channelled towards the betterment of the STRUGLING industry—else, where will the award be in the next few years when the industry collapses?
