‘Amazing’ New Load Shedding Time Table From ECG | Ghanaians to Go Without Power For 24 Hours Every Other Day

As if the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has not shown us enough wickedness, they’ve announced a new load shedding exercise that is set to infuriate even the most docile of Ghanaians.

A new arrangement is set to see the ordinary Ghanaian go without electricity for 24 hours every other day. The old arrangement was for lights out for 12 hours out of every 48 hours.

The explanation is that the old time table was drawn with a deficit of 480 megawatts of power, but that a recent extra deficit of 140 megawatt has precipitated this new schedule.

There is so much wrong with letting Ghanaians go for twenty straight hours without power that I do not even know where to begin. Inasmuch as they need to conserve power in the face of these challenges, the comfort of the people of Ghana should be a primary concern for such a major service provider.
