Ghana’s Energy Commission to Clam Down on Unlicensed Solar Service Providers

The irony is clear; the Energy Commission cannot ensure that Ghanaians have electricity—the large reason why most Ghanaians are considering solar, but it has the resource to clamp down illegal solar service provider.

According to StarrFm, the Energy Commission is going after Solar Service Providers who do not have the required licenses for their businesses—ready to shut down their businesses.

Reasonably and considering the current power crisis in Ghana, the Energy Commission should rather be talking about regularizing the activities of these unlicensed Solar Service Providers—because when people are desperate, which Ghanaians are, they will do whatever seems comforting.
