I was not going to make a post on this simply because it makes me sick and it seems the prophecy adage ‘no prophet is accepted in his home town’ is manifesting vigorously in our Ghanaian society.

I felt a little bit ashamed when I came across the video and photos below of  Hollywood actress Nicole Ari Parker forgoing all the Oscar Dela Rentas and going for  a made in Ghana dress  to wear for the 2011 BET Awards.

Readers’ Mail: The Reasons Why Ghanaian Entertainers Do Not Win Any International Awards Even If Nominated…Makes Me Sad As A Ghanaian!

Nadia Buari
Nadia Buari

Dear Chris-Vincent,

Is anyone getting tired and depressed about the fact that even though Ghanaian entertainers/celebrities have been receiving nominations for awards’ outside Ghana, they go and come back empty handed?

This is making me sad and yesterday’s D-black’s lost to Nigeria’s 2face and D’banj at the BET Awards nearly got me ill.

After last night’s awards, I asked a couple of friends who I watched the Awards show with a very simple question; Why don’t our Ghanaians win awards outside Ghana?

All the answers I got pointed towards one direction and as much as they seemed harsh, I fully agreed with them. Our Celebrities/Entertainers are the cause of their own inability to get the necessary support and votes to win awards.

In simple terms, all my friends said ‘Ghanaian celebrities or entertainers are stucked up and until they begin to respect their fans and the media, they will never win any award or show that demands some public vote’.

One of my friends said, “Cynthia, imagine how many people will vote for Nadia Buari if she is nominated for an International Award? Come to think about it, which media house will even help her get people to vote? If she is lucky, she may get 5 votes from her family”.

GC Exclusive: Nadia Buari & Abdul Salam Mumuni Speak On Cannes Red Carpet Saga + John Dumelo Talks About The Whole Cannes Arrangement…

Majid Michel, Nadia Buari and Others On Red Carpet, Cannes
Majid Michel, Nadia Buari and Others On Red Carpet, Cannes

After yesterday’s post titled ‘Ghanaian Celebrities Were Not Recognised At Cannes Film Festival & Therefore No Red Carpet For Them, It Was All Lies…’  which highlighted on certain issues raised by Actress ‘Juliet Ibrahim’ with the visit our celebrities made to the recently ended Cannes Films Festival ( especially the Red Carpet Saga), I decided to contact the various Ghanaians who were in the red carpet photos to hear their side of the story.

In the photos (as seen above) were Nadia Buari, Majid Michel, Fred Nuamah, Alhaji Abdul Salam and Susan Peters. Automatically, I crossed out Mr. Fred Nuamah. As the Organizer of the trip and the person placed at the centre of these allegations; I was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that, he would definitely cook for me some sweet story to ‘exonerate’ himself.

I reached out to Nadia Buari with two principal questions in mind. Was there a real (not fake) red carpet and how did the whole red carpet walk come about since Juliet Ibrahim who was part of the delegation to France has stated inter alia that, the red carpet walk is extremely questionable.

Nadia Buari who was on set shooting a movie gave a good reception for the second time to GhanaCelebrities.Com. Trust me, I had prepared my screaming voice and was ready to scream if she had given me a shout. LOL.

On the issue of the red carpet walk at Cannes, Nadia emphatically stated that, it was a real red carpet and they actually did walk on it. Do you think this will be enough for me? I then asked, why then is Juliet Ibrahim, who was part of the delegation to France seems to suggest that the whole red carpet walk is a dust you guys are trying to throw at us.

Ghanaian Celebrities Were Not Recognised At Cannes Film Festival & Therefore No Red Carpet For Them, It Was All Lies…

Majid Michel, Nadia Buari and Others At Cannes
Majid Michel, Nadia Buari and Others At Cannes

Somewhere last week, I had a long separate chit chats via phone with Actress Juliet Ibrahim and Mr Fred Numah (Founder/CEO of Ghana Movie Awards) when they were in France for the Cannes Film Festival.

During our conversation, Juliet Ibrahim who could not believe a false story that was published on our celebrities having been on a red carpet at Cannes expressed her dissatisfaction and shock about the entire Ghanaian- Cannes visit arrangement.

From what I gathered from my convo with Juliet Ibrahim as to what was really going on at Cannes as far as our celebrities were concerned , it seemed our stars namely Nadia Buari, Juliet Ibrahim, Yvonne Nelson, Yvonne Okoro,  Majid Michel, John Dumelo and others who were sponsored by the Ghana Movie Awards to the film festival had nothing scheduled for them out there.

They cheaply jumped on planes and went there to walk about as tourists or persons who had come to see the Hollywood stars… Even tourists have aims for visiting places, our celebrities were purely aimless.

It was therefore a big shock to Juliet Ibrahim to have read that, some Ghanaian celebrities out there in Cannes had graced the red carpet. Apart from the issue of red carpet, Juliet Ibrahim also pointed out that, she was not pleased with the way things were arranged for them.  There was no hotel rooms reserved for them and they did not have any planned means of transport.  Our stars jumped in and out of trains and taxis as if they were ‘I and I’…

A Gist & Photos Of Nadia Buari’s Hidden Baby…

Nadia Buari
Nadia Buari

Someone is trying to sell me some photos of the hidden 7 or 8 year old daughter of Ghanaian Actress-Nadia Buari. The amount the person is asking for from me is not any big deal, I can afford to pay it but I am not sure if I really want to post on the photos and expose the identity of the child…

Nadia Buari has refused to comment on her baby issue but anyone who is very well informed in the Ghanaian Entertainment industry with enough connections will know about the fact that Nadia Buari has a beautiful young daughter….

My conscience is playing up on me on this matter. Why should I post photos of a young innocent girl? Why has Nadia Buari failed to accept or comment openly on her pretty little girl? I thought children are blessings and should be adored….

Separated at Birth or Style Stalker: Nadia Buari & Beyonce Knowles

blank

I was looking at pictures from the just concluded AY Live show in Lagos, and all I could think was how much Nadia in her blonde weave and grey dress favours the bootylicious one…Beyonce!

The resemblance is uncanny from their caramel skin (which depending on who you talk to could be attributed to skin lightening products) to their hairstyles.

It’s anyone’s guess who is copying who here….as they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

So what do you think? Seperated at Birth? Or Style Stalker?

Nana Ekua Aka ‘Mzbel’ Makes A Sudden Jump Into Movies

Mzbel
Mzbel

Information circulating around has it that, the “16 years” hit musician has made a sudden jump into movies to rival the likes of  Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari, Martha Ankomah, Yvonne Okoro and the rest.

The exodus of musicians into the world of movies is not  a new concept in the world of  Entertainment. In the western world,  certain musicians double as actors and the vice versa. However, Mzbel has been silent with musical hits for sometimes and I cannot remember any major hit that she has been able to pull out in recent years.

This therefore bothers my thinking as to why an already established and doing well musician like Mzbel would not concentrate on the musical art to bring out hit songs but would suddenly jump-start with movies, an industry saturated with talentless individuals.

Van Vicker

Over the last few years, an emerging trend within the Ghanaian movie industry has been the explicit use of light- skinned actors, over those of with a dark- skinned complexion. 7 Things Women Hate In Relationships

blankBuilding and sustaining a good relationship could be real hard work for both men and women. Probably what makes it more intriguing is the challenge of uniqueness; every man/ woman is wired differently and everything around them reflect this subtle point.

But in all these, there is no harm in seeking knowledge that can ease your stress and frustration.

In Developing News:Oh My God! So Batman Samini Has Engaged 2 Women In 2 Years & Has A Kid With Each Huh?

blank

After publishing a confirmed engagement between the Ghanaian Musician Batman Samini and the mother of his 6 months old baby “Mercy Geker” which took place last weekend in London, Ghanacelebrities.com has received several emails and phone calls from various people alleging that somewhere in 2009, this same Batman Samini under “Ghanaian customary marriage” engaged one “Sister Christiana” the mother of his 6 years old daughter.

Gosh!! We are still chasing this up as one of the callers from Canada claimed to be a good friend of “Sister Christiana”, the lady Samini allegedly engaged in 2009 and the mother of Toyila Samini (Batman’s 6 years old child). We know for a fact that Samini has a 6 year old child out there, but for the customary marriage bit with the mother of this child, hmmmm.

Does this denote that Samini has successfully engaged two young Ghanaian women in 2 years after having babies with them? Indeed, Fame and Money can do a lot in Ghana. We are 100% certain about the last weekend engagement but finding it difficult to accept the customary marriage which took place last year between this same Batman Samini and Sister Christiana, a Ghanaian born Canadian resident. Why do you think we find it difficult to believe this?. This is just too much for us all….
