The Ghana Nigeria Rivalry

blankA recently published article on this site titled “Nigeria to Send Ghana to the Cleaners” has sparked such frenzy; I find the whole hullabaloo pathetic to say the least. However, the scary aspect of this whole uproar is that, it has weeded out the deeply rooted hatred between these two countries. The callous exchange of words between readers is not only condescending, it sometimes borders ignorance.

The two countries are unique in their own ways. Each has a distinct infrastructure, culture, mannerism to name a few. Of course there are similarities among the two countries, but then that seem stationary in human existence. Likewise is the Nollywood and Ghollywood movie industry. Each industry has its strengths and limitations.

Comparing these industries may prove to be a very tedious task; it seems impossible to do it without offending either side. A little competition between the two industries is healthy for the sake of advancement, but while at it all, let us all desist from making incriminating-prejudice-stereotypical-derogatory-discriminating comments against each other. What these negative comments do is promote division between the two countries.

Please people, let us all exude some form tolerance and respect for each other. Wasting time and energy exerting such hatred and spiteful words towards each other is not only worthless, it is absolutely immature (no offense intended). Instead of wasting your time writing such hate spiced words, spend it on constructive criticism. Now, as we all journey down the path of love towards acceptance and healing, I just want to say “Muaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!MTFBWYA.”

  1. They say a family that prays together stays together. And one that walks apart just falls apart. So, together we stand, divided we fall. at the end of day both country’s needs to stop the fuss and fight and the insult we are giving each other enough is enough none of both country’s is better than the other
