When GhanaCelebrities.Com spotlighted on Idris Elba with a follow up article on him winning 2010 BET’s Best Actor Award, I had a lot of readers slamming it on me on the grounds that, Idris ELba does not see himself as a Ghanaian and as such there is no reason for us to keep talking about him here. Some went far as to say, I am forcing him unto them . (Forcing a man who does not recognise himself as a Ghanaian to become one of us…)
I was amazed at these comments since Idris Elba has stated on various occasions categorically that his mum comes from Ghana and as such, though born in London, he recognises himself as a true Ghanaian. Now, I will not say much on whether Idris is down with Ghana or not. Check the photo above and you can throw the stone….
