Viasat1 In With Two Local Productions ‘The One Show’ & ‘Laugh A Minute’

Viasat1, one of Ghana’s leading entertainment TV Channel is percieved by many as a high profile television station based on the kind of  programs they show on their network. They mostly show lots of foreign movies and series, gradually they introduced West African movies and series and the likes.

The station is set to launch two brand new entertainment programs, which are locally produced. According to the CEO Mr. Rune Skogeng, localising Viasat1 with local productions will help the Viasat1 brand, which he believes will aid them to take further shares of the TV advertising market form the other stations.

Press Release: Ms Nicole Afia Bortsi Wins Ghana’s Most Beautiful Canada Pageant

The first annual Ghana’s Most Beautiful Canada Pageant 2010 took place at the luxurious Woodbridge Banquet Hall located at 4000 Steele’s Ave West on Saturday July 10th 2010. Eight girls competed for the title of Ghana’s Most Beautiful Canada, but Miss Nicole Afia Bortsi, a 19-year-old York University psychology student took the title and walked away with a round trip ticket to Ghana, $ 1000 scholarship and a laptop.

The position of the first runner up went to Miss Vivian Achampong who is a nursing graduate from the University of Laurentian. The second position went to Miss Jennifer Achiaa a student at Medix school in Toronto On, and the third position went to Miss Elizabeth Obeng of Brampton On

The well-attended event was organized by Miss Constance Aniwaah Love a 25-year-old young woman who is a growing influential leader in the Ghanaian community in Canada, her missions is to empower the young women and set them on a winning course in life, and by affording each contestant the opportunity to grow and advance thier personal and career goals while acting as a role model in the community.
