Viasat1 supported a tournament dubbed ‘Peace United Football Tournament’ at Akrade, a suburb of Akosombo in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The tournament which was for Under 14 was won by Right to Dream Football Academy.

The sole aim of the tournament was to pick a winner to represent Ghana in a similar tournament in Oslo, Norway and in turn to welcome the Noble Peace Prize.

For their prize, Right to Dream Football Academy will represent Ghana in Norway in October 2010 in an expense paid trip by Viasat1.

The Right to Dream Academy was founded in 1999 by British entrepreneur Tom Vernom. VIASAT 1 started broadcasting in Ghana on December 12, 2008 and is now a growing free-to-air television station bent on becoming the industry’s leading establishment. It is owned by the Swedish listed media group, Modern Times Group (MTG).

Viasat 1 is MTG’s first venture in Africa and became the fifth terrestrial television network in Ghana. CLICK ON THE PICTURE TO ENLARGE.
