Laugh Out Loud

Checkout non-native speakers murdering the English Language to the fullest. Since Ghanaians are also non-native speakers (as most people are saying), i guess we are on the same scale right?

The following photos show some of the funny mistakes (probably wrong mistakes) made by Chinese as they struggle to know more about English.

  1. awurade, m3 wu…… 😆 😆 😆…at least they warned us to take care “to” falling in the water…. heheheheheh

But i think the problem was translating words directly into english. It’s hard to translate things exactly into another language and for it to make perfect sense. For example, “m3a w3 n3m”….excuse my twi(unfortunately, you can blame my parents for going with the west and forcing me to learn english by force, w3 su y3 asem heheheheh). M3a w3 n3m is something we say when we want someone to work hard, or stay strong. But when you translate it directly to english, it literally means “squeeze your face” hahahahaha. Which wouldn’t make alot of sense in english…..

    Funny stuff.. 😆 😆

    • @MEE,
sorry for the double post….hehehe… the site is acting kind of funny, don’t know why it posted twice. I am eating my humble pie, because just days ago, I was giving someone a hard time for posting twice, not knowing it will happen to me. I guess karma is a bitch huh. I believe the person was kin….Kin i’m sorry oooh….I am now eating my own can of worms…heheheheh

about my twi, i can speak it perfectly but can’t write it very well especially since i move to the states. Don’t write that much in twi… That is why i think it is important for us to invest in our children and siblings not only speaking our languages but knowing how to write as well. When you make it official, people have no choice than to read and write it… So if anyone want to teach me how to write, I will welcome it with open arms. First, you can correct my mistake in my post. I am humble, and know when i don’t know something unlike others like lilly. So help my akan teachers 😳 😯 😳 …hehehehe

        • @osei,
Awww lawd, this my friend…..can we move on from this topic already??? 😯 :opps: 😯

Ok, i will kindly answer your question as you put it… I will give u an example before i will answer your question. In brazil, there are not only different racial groups but there are over 67 different tribes there, but the main language spoken is Portuguese. So to answer your question, it doesn’t matter which language is chosen from the 47, but our official language should be our own. I was reading other comments and people were saying for example if twi or ga is chosen, there will be fights and war, people have to realize ghanaians are not like that. If that was the case we would have had a genocide like the rawanda after so many akans moved to accra. Now when u go to accra, everyone speaks twi but u have to realize accra was for the ga’s….It’s funny when i go to accra, even when i go to the market, even all the sellers speak twi….

All i’m saying is which ever language we choose is not as important as making one of them our official language. Others said, it will be hard to teach our language in schools…are people really serious??? Same way a person was not born speaking and writing english can be the same way they can learn our language. For example let’s say ga is made as the official language. If it is made as mandatory to speak and write as english is, how hard will it be. Ghanaians and matter of fact africans are behind but they don’t know. In china, people read and study in chinese, yet they have one of the best economies in the world. Have great bussinesses, and job creation. So, see it doesn’t matter if you don’t speak english, if you have the brains and money, you can still be successful. Hope I answered your question. The truth of the matter is that I know our government will not change our language, just not going to happen…., but maybe our generation can start thinking critically so when they grow up to be presidents, and government officials they can make the change that ghana really needs…..you feel me??? Sorry if it seems i am repeating myself, people keep asking the same questions so u have to answer over and over…… 🙄

Osei, i think you are cool(even though u are a forty year old gay virgin….heheheheh….just don’t mind me 😉 love messing with u that’s all ), so even if we disagree, I still respect your view….good discussion 😉
