Even before they get to face some 2000 plus people on the 30th of October at the Accra International Conference in the finals of this year’s Miss Ghana beauty pageant competition, the twenty beautiful, bubbly and confident contestants will on Friday take to the Citizen Kofi Entertainment Centre to shake off the impending heat.
Inspired by Media Whiz Kids and Citizen Kofi, a key supporter of this year’s pageant, the night club session will feature some of Ghana’s well-revered music icons including D-Black and Mzbel among others.
The show, billed to be a night full of pomp and spectacular pageantry amidst the celebration of authentic local and international music, to be provided by some of the city’s top Disc Jockey rave heads, is surely going to direct the capital’s late night revelers all to that big gathering at Osu.
The session will be opened to the public from 10pm.
A quick sampling among all twenty contestants: Linda Annansey, Barira Musah, Esther Gadagbui, Stephanie Karikari, Ayisha Munkaila, Asi Addo-Yobo, Daisy Asare- Akoto, , Ida Seidu, Michelle Ayonka, Pokua Agyemang-Badu, Phyllis Nuno, Felicia Tawiah, Frances Nyamikeh, Nadra Osman, Chantell Dapaah, Rita Dawugbo, Joyce Aziabah, Selma Baba, Bernice Bekoe and Yaa Bema Adu-Gyamfi painted an exciting and ready-to-party mood that will best be exhibited when the disco lights go on for a long jamming night.
Events Manager at Citizen Kofi Reks Brobby said his outfit is looking forward to a sell-out. He said Citizen Kofi’s association with the Miss Ghana competition is premised on the pageant’s Ghanaian character and representation.
“Miss Ghana is the only pageant that belongs to Ghana. We felt very okay to jump on board to see how best we can help project Ghana and tourism through the competition. It will be good to work again with Media Whizz Kids next year. I am looking forward to a good show on the 30th. Whoever wins, will surely put Ghana’s best foot forward and I believe the judges will do well to pick a face that represents Ghana, he said”.
