Miss Stephanie Karikari was crowned Miss Ghana 2010 over the weekend and contrarily to precedent, most people seem to be of the view that Stephanie does not have the beauty it takes to be a national beauty Queen.
Past beauty Queens have been seen as epitome of beauty but comments exuding from several platforms in relation to Stephanie put her far from beauty and glamour.
Personally, I do not see her beauty in the photos I have seen so far, maybe she is just not photogenic; but several others who went to the event are of the view that, they cannot still comprehend why she was crowned Miss Ghana. This mean she is exactly what we see in the photos.

Im actually just concerned about the types of clothes and hair that they’ll put on this girl. The Miss World and Miss Universe contestestants had these horribly evening wear that both were positioned in the back cornerCorner of rest of the contestants on stage….Please choose better evening wear and if you gonna use Kaba, at least dress them up with some jewels and shiny stones.
Point being, any duckling can be made into a pageant queen. It is the team around her that needs to be up on their game, the last Miss universe, Ms Phillipines should have won but she gave this wack assAnswer which caused uglyAss MsMexico to win, hell Ms Jamaica was way prettier than her and relatively smarter…anyway. I just think with good coaching and costuming and a bit of charisma KariKari could go far.

Ok, I think the organisers of Miss Ghana have realised most girls partake in the competition because of mere beauty without knowledge, so then they want them to know there is more to it.Gone are the days when beauty pageants were based on physical appearance.Even in todays modelling agencies, you see some of the models and you wonder how they got there.Its all about skills and knowledge.(Erykah Badu is not an exception).Well, about representing Ghana next year, She would only make a mark if its based on intellectual purposes.Anyway, I love her outfit, the stones makes it stand out.But hey I think She is just blessed, its her time.

It is a beauty pageant. Not an intellectual pageant. Beauty should be a cardinal requirement , with all other attributes being supplementary.
She is way below the beauty standard (her forehead is like cement) and i personally think the judges made a terrible mistake here.
The symmetry of her smile, cheekbone angle, eye socket placement are all greatly disproportional to her whole face. She is not ugly but certainly also not pretty.
You may say, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder – I say, i seeyeth not what thou seeyeth.

She was tired, she was shocked and waiting for it to sink in. Its the same everywhere.
Almost all of Ghana was up against Miss Ghana 2009 Mimi Aremi when her photos were published from the finals of Miss Ghana. She went to Miss World 2010 and they saw beauty fit to qualify for most of their fast track events (Miss World Beachwear, Miss World Top Model and Miss World Beauty with a Purpose).

Some of you who commented above should be ashamed of yourselves. Yes, everybody is entitled to their opinion, but displaying your ignorance in this manner is just plain shameful. Have you met this girl in person to assess whether or not she is worthy or deserves the crown? Where you at the show or just making your judgement on the picture above (don’t act like every picture you have ever taken in your life is a true reflection of what you look like.. the photographer for some odd reason used a bad picture).
Please don’t act like you’ve never watched a pageant before. The crown is never just given to the most beautiful girl. Even that would be difficult as what people define as beauty differs from one person to the next. The is a set of criteria that the judges have to go by. Most of you watched the most recent installation of the Ms. Malaika Pageant where the girls in the top 5 all fumbled on the last question, which carries a lot of weight in these type of pageants. If a girl does well during most of the show but performs poorly at that stage, it really hurts her chances of winning. It is unfortunate and somewhat unfair. So if anything, you should be complaining about the rules of the show and should be suggesting on how to make things better, and not taking out your ignorance on some girl who did better than the other girls and deserved the crown in the end.
