Motivational Message Of The Week: Perseverance, A Tool That Really Works…

Perseverance
Perseverance

Giving up on a difficult chase when you are never getting to the destination is a common trace in most human beings. Anytime I am asked to differentiate between a successful person and a failure, my answer has always been simple; a successful man is the one who believes in perseverance while a failure dwells on giving up.

The above distinction points out the correlation between Perseverance and Success. Without perseverance, Success becomes a conception which is fully attributed to Luck.

Director Leila Djansi Rants And Mentions Nadia Buari & Ama K Abebrese As Good Actresses: A Scene In A Movie Can Make You A Star…

Leila Djansi
Leila Djansi

I guess Leila Djansi’s head is spinning as she constantly comes in contact with various Actors and Actresses who seem not to have a clue about what it takes to become a star.

The Ace Director/Scriptwriter seems to be far pushed by certain incidents and has therefore taking time to write her “professional frustration” down for Ghanaian Actors and upcoming ones to know what is really expected from them.

In her piece, she mentions Nadia Buari and Ama K Aberese as good actresses though she acknowledges that there are more out there unmentioned. Below is what Leila Djansi wrote down with the caption “A Scene In A Movie Can Make You A Star. Little Drops Of Water”

__________________________________________________________________

This is getting really redundant. I am almost disappointed. This note is to all my Ghanaian actors. Please, help me make sure they all read it.

Does Forest Gump bring any memories? anyone seen it? yeah? Remember “Uncle Bubba”? Uncle Bubba was played by Mykelti Williamson. (Brian Hastings on 24). He had one scene opposite Tom Hanks. Today he is known in every household as uncle bubba. One scene.

When I give an actor a script and they say things like: only these scenes? how many scenes?, there are a lot of scenes oh or will there be more scenes, I get discouraged working with the person. I feel you are not an actor. You have just settled into the profession not knowing why you are there or what it means. That to me translates into you can not understand and become a character.

GC Life 101: It’s A Hard Knock Life…For Me- Part 1

GC Life 101
GC Life 101

“I want you to just relax, this won’t hurt at all.”

I could feel his breath wavering across my face, I remember the lingering smell of his cologne as he adjusted my chair back; it took me right back, back to when all this absurdity first began…

He spanked me hard on my buttocks. I remember screaming my little lungs out, and at the age of five, my lungs were not developed enough to emit a terrifying enough noise that could alert the neighbours of the anguish I was going through.

“Daddy no please, I’m sorry daddy please stop!” Tears upon tears cascaded down my face, and yet he wouldn’t stop- infact, the smacks and blows being rained upon my small and fragile body increased at a shockingly fast tempo.

At the tender age of five, although not completely aware of right and wrong yet, I knew this was an extreme form of punishment for a simple thing as not picking up my doll from the living room floor when he asked me to.

Yvonne Okoro
Yvonne Okoro

It is a slow weekend for me and as such I have decided to let you guys know that Yvonne Okoro, one of the recipients of the ‘Best Actress’ award at the recent Ghana Movie Awards, has dismissed her manager, Naa Konadu.

Speculation has been rife for some time that the two were not on best terms, despite their professional demeanour. However, whilst speaking to Ghana’s Multi-TV , Yvonne stated that the primary reason that the two had been experiencing difficulties with regards to their working relationship, was because Naa Konadu had other engagements to attend to, henceforth limiting her from placing her full focus on Yvonne’s career.

Love & Relationship: My Man Allowed His Ex To Spend Weekend With Him + I Have Found Out My Man Is The Ex Of My Old School Mate Who Had A Bitter Break Up With This Man…

blank

Dear GC,

I’ve been in a relationship with a guy for about 5 months now and I really love this guy.  He is every woman’s dream guy. The problem is a  I found out something heartbreaking about him in our second month of dating which is killing me.

I don’t know how to approach him about the issue.  I wanted to ignore it and just build a relationship but i’ve come to realise that it’s not helping me and I want to talk to him about it but I don’t know how  to start.

Barely 2 months of dating I was chatting with an old mate in school who was lamenting over a break up she was going through, how the boy is ignoring her and won’t even give her any reasons for his actions. She was so down and I was about going offline so I took her number to call her later and encourage her.

The Drama Continues: Ghana Movie Awards’ ‘Best Actress’ SUV Car Still Parked At The Golden Tulip Hotel, They Cannot Even Decide Who Among The 4 Should Take The Car Home…

blank

I am not in the least bit surprised to hear about the following news with regards to the Ghana Movie Awards prize presentation ceremony; according to Joy Online, GP Limited (who were the primary organisers of the Ghana Movie Awards), have announced that the SUV car awarded to the four recipients of the ‘Best Actress’ award, is still parked at the Golden Tulip Hotel.

As you are all aware by now, there were FOUR actresses were awarded the ONE award (Roselyn Ngissah, Yvonne Okoro, Jackie Appiah, and Juliet Ibrahim). With the exception of Miss Appiah, the remaining three ladies were able to attend the prize presentation ceremony.

However, in stark contrast to Agya Koo (winner of the Male Founder’s Merit Aarwad), who drove his SUV home on the same day, the SUV for the winners of the ‘Best Actress’ award was still parked in the exact spot the keys were handed over to the actresses- 48 hours after the presentation ceremony.

GC’s Exclusive Interview With Rocky Dawuni: Talks About His Music, Hair Style, Rastafarianism & Others + Photos…

Rocky Darwuni
Rocky Dawuni

The chit chat I had with Afro Reggae Roots musician Rocky Dawuni turned out to be a lesson imparting wisdom. He is one of the many manifestations that contribute to the positive images of the Afro-centric style.

When GhanaCelebrities.Com asked about his penchant for wearing browns, greens, cream for his stage, video and performance attire, he candidly compared it to a case of favoritism, they have certain naturalness to them and I gravitate to the earth tone colors.”

I wish I could tell you that he faced a firing squad of complaints from his friends and family for going natural but it would be a tale for a Bollywood film. Even the optimist, Rocky Darwuni’s stance from a young age was that, [dreadlocks] I felt from the onset, a positive sense, it challenged the mindset that here I am as a musician who is responsible, working hard at my craft and wearing my hair this way is symbolism to make Ghanaians think of dreads in a less critical way; also to not judge a person based on their look and their hair.”

Ghana Movie Awards Is Another Skimpy, Bias & Gobbledygook Award Scheme… My Factual Opinion, What Is Yours?

blank

Most of us Ghanaians are jokers and very non-outspoken, a behaviour which has turned majority of us into some coward sycophants failing to see the truth in what goes on around us. Even if aware of the truth, our dim assertion of being branded enemies of progress and non-well wishers curtail our minds to speaking the truth.

The above is one of the foremost reasons why Ghana is where it is today and our activities will always be considered as a joke by those out side with critical minds, understanding and foresight to seeing the truth and what lies behind the rock as far as our endeavours are concern.
