Looking good. Wonder what genre she is going to try out this time. I think Shirley is still trying to find what her niche is, but if I were to take a gamble, I’m gonna say this is gonna be along the lines of the African American movie ‘The Brothers’ but this time with women. So probably a dramedy. But who knows. She might just trick us. Still trying to decipher the title. Been hearing about a lot of other underground movie productions going on in Ghana, by both local and from the diaspora filmmakers. First running to the finish line is Leila’s film Ties that Bind, full of Hollywood, glitz and glamour and high budgets and now Shirley’s Adam’s Apples – keeping true to the spirit of independent filmmaking as well as a few others yet to reveal themselves. Let the Ghana movie season begin!!! Next years AMAA already looks like it’s gonna be really interesting. AMAA 2012! Ghana, give everyone else a run for their money. 🙂 Now I have to work hard and save money to go to the movies. I wish there were some theatres in other regions though. These movies need to start reaching out better to everyone. Good job Ghana!
This is why i love shirley. She never brags about a movie she’s making and which people are in it. She just suprises us with a movie. Thats what we want. Not somebody who always fakes famous people’s names to be in her movies but at the end, these people are not even in the movie. Soo proud of you Ms. shirley! 🙂

Between Leila and Shirley, shirley is the better person but leila does better movies. Shirley mostly does recycled tyler pery/black american movies….her movies don’t end well as well.
She’s a good director and ambitious but shirley is not a good story writer.
I have said before that she should direct and let somebody else do the writing. If she will do that, she will have no competition. Look at what Tyler Perry did with For Colored Girls. Its his best movie to date. The writing was extraordinary. that is what Shirley needs to do….direct a mouth watering script by a pro.

I agree with Mackie5667. Shirley is definitely the better human being. And she does not hype a movie months ahead of its release date and then the DVD is nowhere to be found. I like that she surprises us. You don’t even know she is shooting a movie.

Since Ken Attoh been involved in Shirleys last two movies (CHeckmate and 6Hours) -her movies have not been up to par. I know he gives u orgasms but please dont mix business with pleasure – STOP LETTING YA BABY DADDY KEN BE INVOLVE IN THE PRODUCING OR DIRECTING OF YOUR MOVIES – LET HIM DO ANY THING BUT PRODUCE OR DIRECT ANY OF YOUR MOVIES – it leaves the movie very dull.

No matter what, one thing I am sure about is that, Shirley will be loved and all movies will be loved by Ghanaians and those out of Ghana. She can go far and far with her movies. She is welcoming and her attitude is what is needed.

That’s a very unintelligent argument to make. if shirley decides to write scripts and make movies for people to buy then she should be told if her scripts aren’t good enough.
