Where I come from in Ghana, you dare say “No” to a gift. Any attempt to do so will fetch you some shocking slaps from anyone standing next to you. Even if you do not like what is being given to you as a gift, you are still obliged to accept it and show a good smiling face to that effect.
Also, when you accept gifts, you are expected to make good use of them and it is so warming and appreciative if the giver sees you using the gifts.
Apart from the controversial car that was given to the 4 Ghanaian Actresses “Juliet Ibrahim, Jackie Appiah, Yvonne Okoro and Roselyn Ngissah”, they were also given other list of things such as Free Spa treatments for a whole year, Free 1 year gym memberships, opportunity to have their clothes sown for them freely by MKOGH and others….
Ask yourself if they are making any use of the numerous freebies that comes with the Award? Hmmm, with the exception of Juliet Ibrahim, I cannot put in “affirmative” for any of the other ladies.
The Ghana Movie Awards organizers without doubt gave all these things out as gifts but also to help promote the corporate brand of the Award scheme and as such, it would show appreciation and fulfilment if these Actresses make known that they are enjoying or making good use of the other packages they were given to them as maiden edition winners.
Several months are gone and none has come out to say, “What I am wearing or using is by kind courtesy of Ghana Movie Awards” except what I am writing now in reference to Juliet Ibrahim.
Let’s learn to be more humble and appreciate honours done us. Check out the below photos of Actress Juliet Ibrahim using the Golden Tulip Hotel Gym and Tennis Court freely all because of Ghana Movie Awards.
Also, the stunning dress (pictures below) she rocked for Saturday’s MTN Ghana Music Awards was designed, fabric bought and sewed by MKOGH-kind courtesy of Ghana Movie Awards “freebies”.
If nothing at all, when the founder “Fred Nuamah” sees something like this, it will put a smile on his face rather than being bombarded all the time with the Car Saga….
