Based on a publication by Peacefm earlier this week which wrongly stated that Ghana’s dancehall King ‘Samini’ has married a 3rd wife, I wrote a post to express my shock and disgust.
After talking to few contacts in Ghana, it is obvious that Peacefm and Xfm who were the first media outlets to have reported on Samini’s recent marriage got the wrong gist.
From what I was told, Samini did not add another chick to his collection this time. He rather legally sealed the relationship (customary marriage) he had with his first Canadian based wife ‘Christiana Aboagye Mensah’, the mother of his 8 year old daughter- Toyila Samini.
I am not sure what pushed Samini to finally accord his first wife this honour. But whoever did the push deserves to be commended. It surely must have been tough and rough for ‘Christiana’ all these years and the fact that she is here today says a lot. I do not think a lot of women will sit and watch their man jumping into beds, get into marriages and still stick around to achieve the final glory.
Congrats to Samini and her legally crowned wife. By the way, what happened to the other chick ‘Mercy Geker’ that Samini married somewhere last year in London after having a baby with her? Are they really divorced as someone said to me?

I do not want to get into arguments of what is derogatory or not, I did not state anything as a fact, I j wrote a post then just expressed my opinion based on what I honestly believed at the time as the truth…
If you hear someone is dead and you believe it and based on that you cry your heart out, after finding out that it is not true, does that make your cry stupid? No, it was based on what you honestly believed as the truth at that time…

Chris, i disagree with you on this comment. As a journalist (correct me if you are not one). Even if you are not, i believe you owe it a duty to double check and do due diligence on news you put out for public consumption. Thank God for people like you who we all rely on for information. We make our arguments outside this medium based on the stuff you put here. If you fail to double check, or make independent investigation on a personality, your own reputation and the stuff you put out becomes questionable, and your reputation is brought to disrepute…

i agree with relevant.i think u shd av done all the cross-checkings before publishing wat u did earlier.some people will not read this second piece but will just take the first piece as it is.as a writer,this is something you need to do.
As a writer , I do not have to do any of the things you have said. As a reader you got to do those not me. You have to know the difference between a blog and for that matter a gossip blog and a news website or media joint.

I guess is No…As a writer I have provided a disclaimer page and have stated what info on this blog is and is not. @ GC its true mercy with the support of hr family ended the marriage a year ago as Samini lied to them from the get go regarding his wife. Chris, I think throwing negative or insulting remarks towards the baby in London or family is out of order and you should check yourself!

@Tyron you obviously have personal issues here as I clearly remember Samini releasing a personal statement apologising to both women when the issue came out last year!
