GC Exclusive: Nadia Buari & Abdul Salam Mumuni Speak On Cannes Red Carpet Saga + John Dumelo Talks About The Whole Cannes Arrangement…

After yesterday’s post titled ‘Ghanaian Celebrities Were Not Recognised At Cannes Film Festival & Therefore No Red Carpet For Them, It Was All Lies…’  which highlighted on certain issues raised by Actress ‘Juliet Ibrahim’ with the visit our celebrities made to the recently ended Cannes Films Festival ( especially the Red Carpet Saga), I decided to contact the various Ghanaians who were in the red carpet photos to hear their side of the story.

In the photos (as seen above) were Nadia Buari, Majid Michel, Fred Nuamah, Alhaji Abdul Salam and Susan Peters. Automatically, I crossed out Mr. Fred Nuamah. As the Organizer of the trip and the person placed at the centre of these allegations; I was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that, he would definitely cook for me some sweet story to ‘exonerate’ himself.

I reached out to Nadia Buari with two principal questions in mind. Was there a real (not fake) red carpet and how did the whole red carpet walk come about since Juliet Ibrahim who was part of the delegation to France has stated inter alia that, the red carpet walk is extremely questionable.

Nadia Buari who was on set shooting a movie gave a good reception for the second time to GhanaCelebrities.Com. Trust me, I had prepared my screaming voice and was ready to scream if she had given me a shout. LOL.

On the issue of the red carpet walk at Cannes, Nadia emphatically stated that, it was a real red carpet and they actually did walk on it. Do you think this will be enough for me? I then asked, why then is Juliet Ibrahim, who was part of the delegation to France seems to suggest that the whole red carpet walk is a dust you guys are trying to throw at us.

“I cannot comment or react to Juliet’s allegation, all I can tell you is my own side of things and that is what I have said; the red carpet was the same one the other stars walked on so if that is fake, then I don’t know” she said.

Hmmmm, I started to give my head a scratch and then asked; how did the whole red carpet walk happen? Nadia Buari explained that, they had gone to a movie screening and after the movie; they were some how “miraculously” given the invitation and chance to grace the red carpet. Yes, the word is “miraculously”, she used it…

I wanted to find out more about where the red carpet was placed and the procedure one had to go through to secure a walk. She told me that, the red carpet was placed at the entrance of the auditorium where the movie screening took place.

I was like ‘Oh yeah’, so if it was placed as a path to the auditorium, that suggest reasonably that every person going into the auditorium for the screening will walk on the red carpet, isn’t it? I was beginning to use my law cross-examination of witness skills here…LOL

She answered by saying ‘”not every tom, dick and harry can walk on the carpet, you needed an accreditation, a pass or invitation and you have to go through a security screening so that is what happened”. Wow, this chick is being smart; I don’t think she answered my question, did she? She was beginning to sound like a politician to me, not an Actress.

She further added, “the red carpet was not any extra ordinary one, it was not the usual red carpet with glam and paparazzis, and it came abruptly to us so that even explains the way I was dressed”.

Enough of this red carpet BS I said in my mind, so who paid for your hotel while out there I asked? Nadia replied “I do not want to comment on that, you can ask the others who went, they may want to talk about that to you”.

After my telephone conversation with Nadia Buari, I phoned Majid Michel and guess what, this dude was sleeping. What has he been doing all night that he was sleeping during the day?

Anyway, I moved on to Abdul Salam who said, “all Juliet is saying is a lie. We had poor communication with Juliet while out there; she did not stay at our hotel and went to a different hotel with her sister and friend…”

Okay calm down Alhaji, can you punch the face of that Majid Michel dude to wake him up for me? Alhaji and Majid were together somewhere in Europe. Of course I did not tell him that, it was something I thought about saying to him.

“Who paid for your hotel whiles out there in France?”. He answered, “I paid it myself, we paid for our tickets so why should we expect someone else to pay for our hotels?

Come on Mr. Venus Production, I am the one asking the questions here and not you, LOL. I said goodbye to Alhaji and proceeded to tackle the lover boy ‘John Dumelo’.

You won’t believe this, John Dumelo has been sweet talking me that he will buy me a Range Rover and has even cashed the money, ready to get it for me. I now understand why all those chicks are claiming to have fallen for his trap. The guy got p.hd in sweet talking from the University of Desperate Girls, Achimota. (just kidding)

I BB John and asked “Massa John…so at Cannes, who paid for your hotel”.  He replied “Majid and I stayed in an apartment at Cannes, paid by Fred Nuamah. Fred told the ladies he’ll refund their hotel payments to them too”.

What about transportation arrangement, Was there any? John answered, “My apartment wasn’t far from the festival grounds at all. We walked but in case we were tired, we had a private cab”.

He added “Ps: the total money I took was 135,650 Euros. I nearly bought your Range Rover in Manaco!”. This dude and his mouth huh? So you have the full gist now, you have to do the judgement as to whether to go with Juliet Ibrahim or the others…

  1. Ok so if indeed they were given the now famous Red carpet reception why would juliet lie about it? or could it be dat she was left out?? certainly no cos yesterday Fred himself said that they arrived a day after the red carpet event so why is Nadia sayn sometn different? i think she is just trying to cover their butt to prevent the shame they brought upon themselves. lesson learnt: our local celebrities should humble themselves and not think they are on top of the world !!!!!

  2. I think that these people invited them selfs to Cannes film festival, so that they will get an inside idea of the World films. And when there, you get invite to many screening just like many medias.

I followed the whole thing on tv here in Denmark and never once did you hear anything about actors from Ghana.

Ghana films need much more pro work to be screen at the Cannes Film Festival.

  3. So you arrive the day after the ‘red carpet’ event and you also walked the ‘red carpet” after the premeiring of the film? Hmm. This is hilarious. And moreover, the ‘red carpet’ is not just any ordinary ‘red carpet’, what next you are going to say it was sprinkled with gold and fairy dusts. Is Nadia on the crack pipe? Where is Mr. Burari, I think it’s time that she sits down and have a serious talk with Daddy Burai because Mama Burai is worse than Lindssey Lohan’s mom.
So for John Dumelo, pls massa ease up off the weed. I think your judgement is a little cloudy. Pass the splif ova to Snoop Dogg.

  4. I go by Juliet Ibrahim’s story. These people should stop licking Fred Nuamah’s balls. Why are they afraid he would not give them any awards in future? They all keep contradicting themselves (well thats what happens when you lie).

Alhaji Salam Mumuni knowing or unknowingly said it all. ““Who paid for your hotel whiles out there in France?”. He answered, “I paid it myself, we paid for our tickets so why should we expect someone else to pay for our hotels?”

As for John and Majid, i think Fred Nuamah was going to stay at a friends apartment and they decided to go and squat with him over there hence they saved money on hotel bills.

Nadia said the red carpet was not an extra ordinary one? Bitch u were standing on the wrong red carpet…hahahahahaa

      • @kr, Salam claims Juliet is lying, Nadia is trying to look smart infront of people but not realising that she is just fooling herself that dumb liar Everybody is beating around the bush ad far as I know I been to Cannes festival and it’s open to everyone there depending and trust me those red carpet there is nothing at all is just part of the decoration that’s the time of year that big film makers and small budget film makers comes together and learn more in the film industry
But I don’t no why everyone is targeting those celebs of course they want tell the truth but I think people that knows what Cannes festival is all about will no that these nutters didn’t go there for anything but to learn more experience

        • Miyagi, I hear what you are saying and honestly this is just a shame on how these celebs are covering up and making themselves look like idiots. I know what the Cannes Film Festival is all about although I have never been in attendance there myself. I think the point is that the impression that these celebs are giving to the public, as if we are idiots, is that they were special guest swho walked the ‘red carpet, (as in a formal situation). Nadia is talking about she was on ‘THE RED CARPET’ as if we are idiots like her. We can all see a carpet in the pix and it is indeed RED no doubt about the color. So, in speaking for myself and myself only, the implication, that they (the celebs in the pix and interviews, with exception to Juliet) is that they were a part of a formal walk on the ‘RED CARPET’ where they were acknowledged by media (local and international media) and photographed by established journal media like BBC, CNN, Associated Press, etc. We can all see that they are working very hard at covering up their embarrassment of being one of the ordinary non-celebrity onlookers from around the world. Good public relations sense would have told those who choose to speak about their Cannes experience, to speak in a diplomatic way about the experience. Some like, “Yes I went to France to have the experience of an internationally renowned Festival. The experience was enlightening. I had the opportunity to see other celebrities from around the world although it was rather difficult to get one-on-one reception with them. As you can imagine, the event is extremely demanding on celebrities especially those who are known worldwide. As for our/my accommodations I think it is best to speak to the organizers of the Ghanaian delegate.” That would not be a lie (as we can see, so obviously at that), but appreciated that the effort to have a learning esxperience was had by all. No, but these nincompoops are still delusional. If you do not deal with reality you cannot grow. When people are going to report that Yvonne Okoro met Jude Law and spoke with him briefly but have not one solitary picture (really, you met Jude Law and could not find even a cell phone to take a pic?), you want anyone to take you seriously? Majid, met Robert DeNiro (again no pic)….only to read a report that Robert DeNiro was in the background, but you are making it seem as if you actually “MET” the man. Why would anyone take you serioiusly, when you are in denial? Give an honest report. That’s all people are saying. People can critize Juliet Ibrahim all they want, you know what? She told it like it was for her. Her experience did not live up to what she was told she would have. She is not covering up and lying for people to give her roles in their “cantata movies” as someone on here puts it. I can respect Juliet, the experience was eye opening for her, she saw the reality of their, the Ghanaian celebs, status in international waters and it is far different from what they are at home. Let, Fred Nuamah, speak for himself. No celebrity should be covering up for him. I hope they are not falling for bribes of roles in movies. The whole thing was clearly a mess, Abdul Salam himself said the he paid for his expenses. Do that sound very far from what Juliet has reported? By the way Abdul, if a part of a prize package is a trip to Cannes Film Festival, no one expects you to pay for anything, that’s why it is a prize. So the fact that the ‘winners’ had to pay anything tells you a lot about the organizers integrity. But that tells you something about these ‘awards’ and their organizers. If they can’t even select one winner for an award, (always doubling, tripling and quadrroupl’ing’ on winners), why the hell would sending a delegation of celebrities be any different or better. By the way, what award did Nadia Burai win to be a part of the delegation to Cannes? Some one please inform, I am ignorant of that piece of information. John Dumb-elo, is the other one. My dear John, in case you don’t know this, when you call a cab in Europe and the USA, it doesn’t come with a load of people, so essentially you can consider it private for your (and or your friends’) use at that specific time. (Sound like what I do when I am on vacation). Anyway, enough of my speil, Mayagi, the lies are unending. We may NEVER get to the bottom of it especially when people are justifying to incompetence of the mediocre behavior. “So what if they crashed the whole thing”? They should bloody hell say, “Yea, we crashed Cannes and had a blast” but don’t come and report lies as if we the readers are stupid. Keep doing that and see how fast you’ll begin to lose your fans. Keep up this shit and expect to live lavishly off our hard earned dollars that buy your fucking crappy movies. Peace dude.

  13. Red Carpet this Red Carpet that. Who cares! I would rather fantasize about Nadia Buari licking my balls than give a hoot about some miraculous carpet she paraded on.

It is grossly immature for our celebrated actors to be dabbling in platitudinous and baseless arguments, which in my opinion diminishes them into fame-starved desperadoes, jumping on any “kayayo lorry” tagged with a celebrity license plate.

Give me Nadia Buari and i will rescind, repeal and annul my comment!

I dont think it matters if they did nt get a red carpet treatment, the experience as a tourist or whtver is good for a start.
