Photos + The Fab & Posh Dinner With The Celebrities: Shirley Frimpong Manso, John Dumelo, Joselyn Dumas, Yvonne Okoro, Naa Ashorkor, Adjetey Anang & Others Were All There…

After years of blogging about Celebrities, I have come to realize that by default, celebrities are like computer programmes, they function in certain ways as told to do and would not under any certain terms deviate from their refined acts.

However, good company, good conversation and a little alcohol does wonders such as defiling the default programmed mindset and behaviour of celebrities, it seems to be the only mechanism to get actress Yvonne Okoro to stand up in the middle of a restaurant and laugh out hard as if she was on some LSD.

The dinner with the stars and crew of ‘Adams Apples’ together with a ticket winner from GhanaCelebrities.Com and her guest took place yesterday at a posh Bayswater restaurant.

The stunningly dressed persons who made it to the dinner were all seated at about 8pm with giggles and little chit chats amongst ourselves. The default programme was working at this stage; everybody was being ‘classy’ and low toned.

About 18 people (celebrities and non celebrities) gathered around two tables with different variety of tasteful Chinese food spinning around for everyone to dish whatever he or she wants.

Seated on my table were generous and chicly dressed Shirley Frimpong Manso, Bridget (Shirley’s lovely sister) and her husband, the calm and gentle Anang Adjetey (Pusher), Joselyn Dumas, SassyChic from GC, Chantel Korsah (winner from GC) & her guest (mother) and Lydia from Sparrow Productions.

On the second table were folks from AKWAABA (those who poorly organized the London Movie Premiere), the swerve John Dumelo, Naa Ashorkor Mensah, Yvonne Okoro and a certain LOUD and overly drunk dude called NANA.

After we had enough of the food and soft drinks that were ordered, the wine and champagne started rolling in and this is when people’s default programmes started to suffer some major defects!

The two tables got neatly louder with conversations on a wide range of topics; issues such as Travel, GhanaCelebrities.Com, Big Brother Africa, Politics, USA Foreign Policies, Film Making, Feminism, amongst others were discussed with contributions from everyone.

The more the alcohol rolled in, the more fun it became. In the midst of family, friends and work colleagues, the person who made this possible-Shirley Frimpong Manso was happily carried away into sequence of laughers and talks.

The GC reader Chantel Korsah who won the opportunity to dine and mingle with the stars was also happily seated near her Mother and Joselyn Dumas.

Joselyn has such a lovely and chatty persona, alcohol made her even more interesting.

On the 2nd table, Naa Ashorkor and Yvonne Okoro got louder and louder with fine wine and champagne messing with their heads as they talked about Movies, Women Empowerment and other things.

The dinner night came to a cheerful and socializing end at around 11:30pm. It was certainly a fabulous night to sit close to those I bash and commend on this blog.

Thanks very much to Shirley Frimpong Manso and her Sparrow Productions for making this possible, thanks to all the Celebrities that made it fun and all that were able to make it to the night. It was a night to remember!

  1. Thank you Miyagi!

I thoroughly enjoyed last night, there was great food, stimulating conversation and most of all, excellent company! Throughout the dinner, although I was in the presence of many stars from Gollywood, I was made to feel very welcome and important, and I have high expectations of Gollywood now I have seen first hand some of the pioneering directors, producers and directors that are currently on the scene.

First of all, Mrs Bridget (Shirley’s sister) and Shirley organised a fantastic menu in an excellent restaurant in a lively, vibrant location in the West End. We arrived and were soon joined by the stars, headed by Shirley Frimpong-Manso, and even though they have had an exhausting few days attending the premier, and shooting scenes throughout the days (and nights) for Adams Apples Chapter 9, they were still happy and lively and entertaining.

The conversation was very vibrant on my table, as Chris said, Ms Jocelyn Dumas (now probably my favourite actress lol) regaled us with tales of her foreign travels to China, Hong Kong and other exotic locations. We all lamented the eviction of Ms Confidence Haugen from BB Amplified, and discussed the other housemates, both from this series and previous series. We talked about Adams Apples and the future of Ghana films, which I was eager to hear as I missed the premiere due to a serious accident I had on Friday. There was a heated debate on the state of Ghana politics and how their excellencies “Uncle Atta” the charismatic “JJ” and Mr Kufuor had impacted on Ghana.

The most intriguing part though was probably Chris and SassyChic’s description of Ghana Celebrities, how they got started, and how they manage to gain access to the hot stories of the Ghana Showbiz World. As to where they get their info from-Celebrities that are often profiled here, if you are reading this, please watch your inner circle and re-assess who to trust-I was shocked to hear that it is often people who close to you that sell you out.

Ladies and Gents, if you want such an opportunity as this, stick close with Ghana Celebrities.com, they know how to deliver the goods with prizes like these!

    • @Chantal K, Awww, now I feel i should have won this opportunity. You really have me jealous now.

So cool that you got the chance to meet all the stars and Chris and GC folks. One thing I love about GC is how real they are, they are close to the stars and they value their readers by giving them such opportunities.

I did not know Joselyn was cool as you said, I have always thought she was anti social

      • @akosuaghana, no not antisocial at all, she was really nice and exuberant! Everyone was really cool, I was even dreading before the dinner that I may encounter some snobby or antisocial attitudes but it was the direct opposite from everyone present. Yes its true, GC are really moving places!

    • @ suzyb, wow I’m honoured that my first comment on GC has attracted my first hater lol. I’ve never really insulted or hated on any celeb because its not in my nature really; I’ve never commented on here before precisely because of comments like yours… Chris and SassyChic were saying at the dinner this is a big problem on the site, commenters like you being rude and bitchy for no good reason because they can hide behind their laptops as they would not be bold enough to say such things face-to-face… As to my jumpsuit, I liked it, I felt good in it and that’s all that matters to me, and I actually received several compliments 😛 sorry to disappoint you lol.

    • When did an adult getting drunk become a crime or where did I state that it was a crime that someone got drunk? Did I say anyone did not enjoy it? And who said I was writing to please Nana or anybody? Where has anyone’s private life been violated? Whoever you are, you surely need a RE-READ or better still, take some chill pill becos it is not that serious. Have a good day!
