Readers’ Mail: The Reasons Why Ghanaian Entertainers Do Not Win Any International Awards Even If Nominated…Makes Me Sad As A Ghanaian!

Dear Chris-Vincent,

Is anyone getting tired and depressed about the fact that even though Ghanaian entertainers/celebrities have been receiving nominations for awards’ outside Ghana, they go and come back empty handed?

This is making me sad and yesterday’s D-black’s lost to Nigeria’s 2face and D’banj at the BET Awards nearly got me ill.

After last night’s awards, I asked a couple of friends who I watched the Awards show with a very simple question; Why don’t our Ghanaians win awards outside Ghana?

All the answers I got pointed towards one direction and as much as they seemed harsh, I fully agreed with them. Our Celebrities/Entertainers are the cause of their own inability to get the necessary support and votes to win awards.

In simple terms, all my friends said ‘Ghanaian celebrities or entertainers are stucked up and until they begin to respect their fans and the media, they will never win any award or show that demands some public vote’.

One of my friends said, “Cynthia, imagine how many people will vote for Nadia Buari if she is nominated for an International Award? Come to think about it, which media house will even help her get people to vote? If she is lucky, she may get 5 votes from her family”.

Helle Asante
Helle Asante

Is what actress Helen Asante saying true? I will surely count myself out because I know how the game goes and I am good at it. Come to think of it, how many Ghanaian men have she rocked with to come to such a hasty generalization? Of course she has not met folks like me…

‘As a young lady…I think I am a young lady trying to please my man and in the process, I tried whispering words into his ears, telling him sweet stuff that turns him on but when it is my turn, he does not do anything. “All that Ghanaian guys want is sex, sex and sex.’ What is she talking about here? She sounds like an amateur to me…

Anyway, if  you are interested in why the actress is saying Ghanaian men can’t have good sex, read below for what she told NewsOne….

Motivational Message Of The Week: The Most Important Brick Needed To Build Success Is …

blank

How much do you believe in yourself, your abilities and your skills? The level of belief you have in yourself to a very greater extent determine how far and the level of success you can pile up in life.

There are days when we begin to loose trust in ourselves, what we can achieve with our acquired skills, determination and knowledge. Self doubt is bad not having a tiny bit of belief in yourself is suicidal; it kills and brings any success ahead of you to an abrupt collapse.

Being able to hold ‘self belief’ puts you just a stone away from achieving whatever you are about to tackle. Our attitude, spirit, strength and mindset channelled towards our goal determine whether there will be a realization or not.
