    • @marion,well good for you I rep GH. Next time I hope somebody for gh wins. I think they chose the Africa Award based on popularity not about achievements thru the last year. 2face’s “african queen” has been featured in a major movie featuring M’onique so of course I had a feeling they will choose 2face over D black

  2. come on now ghanaians, the fact that these guys won doenst mean they have international recognition. how many people in the african american community here in the Unites States know about Tuface or Dbanj? prolly none. i can bet on my life that majority of people who voted for these guys to win were not african americans. i am african american so i know what i am saying. they were not even recognized on stage, did u noticed that? this prove my point. no one give a damn about them. i guess majority who voted were nigerians. it’s easy chris. just go to BET website and cast a vote on whichever category u are interested it. they have the population, u guys dont. winnings was based on public vote. i guess nigerians voted for their stars. dont see why u shld be sad. my ghanaian friend(Stacy) already knew that the ghanaian artist did not have a chance not because he is not talented but because he doesnt have the population to push him up. i will say it again, african americans did not vote for these guys, they dont know them. nigerians living in the US and other places did. remember they are more than u. they will always have the vote.

    • @TAMEKA,I get u and all that. Even agree with u on some points. However, concerning why it was these two that won; Our large population certainly gives us an advantage but the Nigerians won because they had beter resues than the others. Fally Ipupa sef (if not for the language barrier- which is not a problem really) wuda beat D-Black if these two had not won. I mean come on! However, if they had nominated Sarkodie, ehennnn! Dat one for make sense. Like I actually kuda voted for him myself coz he’s good. But naaa, (lol) I wuda pikt 2Face becoz he is better. But this is not to cause beef, just saying. The Naija/Ghana beef is getting old. We are not the only AFrican countries. Remember, there are 54 others who are trying to be better at what they do. We are busy fighting about who is better while they are steady climbing. How ironic will it be if after all our “i’m better” yanz, it is another AFrican country who proves they are worth their salt before either of us? You see the futility in comparing and fighting? We are all trying to move forward so let’s not get distracted OK? There are too many collaborations between our countries’ artists which shows that they have respect for one another so we should too as well.
