Edem, formally Ayigbe Edem

The maiden edition of the Ghana Music & Food Festival has forced Ewe rapper, Edem to postpone the launch of his second album, ‘Mass Production’. In an interview with Myjoyonline, the rapper said he has postponed the launch scheduled for October 29 at Accra Mall car park.

Explaining the postponement, he said it was necessitated due to a clash in the dates of the album launch and the Ghana Music and Food Festival scheduled to come off at the International Trade Fair Centre from October 28, 29 to 30 where he has been billed to perform.

“I am performing that day at the Music and Food Festival so I have decided to sacrifice my album launch for the event,” which the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), of which he is an active member, has thrown its weight behind.”

He therefore appeals to his fans to come to the Music and Food Festival to watch him perform new songs from the album. New date for the album launch will be announced at a press conference to be called soon.

In a related development, the Musicians Union of Ghana [MUSIGA] has confirmed over 75 Ghanaian musicians to perform at the event. The artistes were drawn from various genres of music including High Life, Hip Life, Gospel and Reggae.

  1. He was on Peace fm today promoting his album. He explained how the word “ayigbe” started and the negative connotation it had. Insightful I should say.
