Photos: Mzbel On Some Azonto Levels At 'Hotel Babylon' Premiere!

Mzbel doing the azonto dance

There are many things you cannot take away from her royal sauciness; Mzbel. One of such is her stage craft. Her stage appearance and how she mesmerises the audience anytime she performs has endeared her to the hearts and minds of many.
It would be rare to find someone saying ‘I didn’t enjoy Mzbel’s performance’, no matter where in the world she performs.
Nana Ekua aka Mzbel is one of the few female musicians who know how to separate their showbiz personalities from their non-showbiz personalities (real life). How she appears as Nana Akua and Mzbel are totally different. She has been able to maintain the difference, and how she dresses on stage for the purpose of the latter confirms that above assertion.
The ‘azonto’ dance has proliferated to every corner of the country, that every musician is known to have his or her own azonto movement. Don’t forget the azonto dance is very dynamic and comes with an attitude.
Yesterday at the Grand Premiere of the much publicised ‘Hotel Babylon; Where Clothes Are Naked’, the night saw various musicians perform their songs before the start of the movie.
The idea of the musical performances was to have musicians perform each other’s songs interlaced with messages calling for peaceful elections in December.
On her turn to entertain the patrons, Mzbel decided to use the opportunity to dish out various azonto movements.
Mzbel chose and performed her partner-in-crime Diamond’s ‘Taste My Apple’ featuring Stay Jay, a track with an azonto fever. Not to be left out, the patrons joined in the azonto dance. It was a spontaneous azonto competition.
Unfortunately she performed only a song. She  then made way for Diamond who performed her [Mzbel] ‘Run Away’ song. Musicians like Philipa Baafi, Nii Soul, Yaa Pono, OJ Blaq and Ephraim also performed.
